And because I was tired of telling people which races they shouldn't be donating to, we started Flipping Arizona to give people a smart way to donate some money that will make a real difference.

Trump’s new Big Lie that he doesn’t know about Project 2025 might take him downwww.inquirer.com Republicans are in a state of panic now that voters are paying attention to Project 2025, their plan for dictatorship. They should be.

Man i have been saying for a minute that voters everywhere are rejecting fascist shit and it’s only the media that makes us think otherwise, but it’s nice to see that in play right now

When you find common ground with people with whom you agree some of the time but not all of the time, you can prevent people with whom you agree none of the time from taking power. The left and the center have far more in common than either wants to admit.
Breaking news: The first projections after polls closed in France’s legislative election put a leftist alliance in the lead, as the populist, anti-immigration far right falls behind and performs far below expectations.

Anyway! It’s part of being a citizen and I really find trying something far more useful. Flipping Arizona, for instance.
One thing the Pod Save guys lamented as they stimulated was the Pundit-ing of America, the culture of everyone being a pundit. The “age” debate is the Singularity of the Pundit-ing. We’re all trying to talk the world into abiding by our take.

Last Week Tonight made the most important point about Project 2025: it does for the entire administration what the Federalist Society did for his court picks. A Matrix download connecting how MAGA freaks will be efficient enough to execute a 1000-page playbook with Trump’s undeniable harm (Dobbs).

1. Voters generally reject fascism when they know that's the choice. 2. Thus, the MAGA freakout at people figuring out what Project 2025 does.

Only guys like Peter Meijer or Mitt Romney have the cash to pay for private security to protect against the MAGA mob Trump serially sics on his opponents. And even they gave in. A very important point from @emptywheel.bsky.social : We're all Don Bacon's wife.

The preliminary French election results coming from Swiss sources are looking like the left may be the winner and macron second. The far right appears to have had a bad night thankfully. Sure appears the world is rejecting the fascist push and we need to follow suit no matter what.

If Project 2025 were just the Trump Bible version of the GOP platform, that would be bad enough. But it also includes the answer for why Trump will be a dictator this time: He's going to replace the government with book-banning MAGA swingers who sleep with their AR-15s and framed Rothbard photos.

It's interesting how the media often characterizes prominent anti-trans folks in England as "feminist," because "feminist" is viewed more positively in the UK than in the US. In contrast, transphobic writers in the States, making the same arguments, would be horrified to be labeled "feminist."
Reminder that this woman has no medical expertise, no expertise on trans people and as far as I know, no qualifications in counselling

This is super important work. And it looks like it's actually having an effect. Normal people learn about Project 2025 and are scared as shitless as they should be. The Nation, The New Republic, Rolling Stone, Boston Review and others are doing the work that NYT and WaPo are neglecting.
We need more, but credit where due: both The Nation (June 2024 issue) and Boston Review have run a breakdown of the Project 2025 “Mandate for Leadership” document. Media Matters, too. Lots of good work going on digesting this. www.bostonreview.net/articles/ins... www.mediamatters.org/project-2025

Wow. @nytimes.com has closed their Threads account and left the platform after days of getting just shredded in the replies for their handling of Biden post debate. Now they're getting dog piled on Instagram for running from Threads.

Question for people who are following my France coverage: what level of district coverage would you be into tomorrow? Say, no promises, I cleaned up and made public my google spreadsheet of all districts — so the count updates as calls come in. Enough interest in that?

Still remember when they compared a family moving to California to maintain their trans kid's access to health care to a guy who left California because he was afraid of offending liberals at work
I know they get rolled all the time but for the Times to get rolled by “actually they just want to reclaim the values of Western civilization as they see it … with larger families and fewer immigrants” is the Times putting the 14 words in the paper
