One I inherited from my dad was 'buddy', for pretty much all the male pets. We also used to call the Leo 'old man' until he passed, Nibbler is 'sneezy butt', and Bento is 'honker chonker'. Bento picture for reference.

The new baby has also already acquired the nickname 'Soot sprite' for obvious reasons (and we haven't decided if we're renaming him from 'Gummy' yet).

We call our cat Cheese either Tiny Man or Minuscule Boy. Our other cat Kitski is either Sausage or Rug, or All of Space and Time and Everything There Ever Was.

"Rat Boy". Inspired by Homer Simpson imagining bart as a rat and referring to him as "dear rat boy", he just reminds me of a rat so often. Dear rat boy.

No. I will not say it. And also, it is a question: "do you know that you are a sweety heart pumpkin cakes?" "I know I don't say it enough, but I want you to know it again, princess." That is so ick that I won't be sharing it.

My dog PepperAnne mostly communicates with squeaky whines (happy, sad, mad, hungry, all involves squeaking) so her most common nickname is PepSqueak.

OMG you have a squeaky girl too! I had no idea! 🩷 mine also predominantly squeaks!

Between her and the half-husky who talks, it’s noisy around here.

Now that we’re in a larger house, half the time i have no idea where she is lounging; and the other half of the time, i can hear her nail clicks on the floor as she paces the entire house and squeaks while gently holding a stuffed friend in her mouth bc she cannot decide where to hide it away 🩷

Pepper finds treats stressful sometimes because if she doesn’t want to finish it, she wants to hide it for later.

Sounds familiar! My MIL gives the smöl dogs half a gigantic milk bone as bribery to go into their “houses” (crates), so 💗Muffin ends up with one at our house, & paces & squeaks. I found the last one in the boy’s bed.

Olive does that, too. If the treat is too big and/or special, it stresses her out. 😭

Every photo I see of PepperAnne makes me want to plumb her psyche. [But never reminds me of a Rottweiler, whose psyches I never wish to investigate. ]

That was about 2 months ago she is on a strict diet now as she has a habit of finishing off her sister's food as well as her own, & it has been difficult to monitor. But a bit of tough love (& a lecture from her favourite vet!) has started a painful weight loss journey. 🙄😅
