I recall this happening more than once. It was a real "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills" period until literally everyone in that insane clique was exposed as a sex creep.
wondering how much of that era's weird culture arose from the hellthread... that freshman dorm blend of horniness, over-familiarity, and a sense of infinite possibility that went straight to a lot of people's heads
Honestly a lot of it was just Twitter nonsense that bled over to here but some people went extremely insane when they became slightly large accounts quickly because it was a very small pond
I caught a couple of glimpses of hellthread, and if I hadn't already been convinced that every social media platform needed DMs, that would have done it for me
