It was Alfonso Greene who did work for both Marvel & DC back then; Ezra Jackson worked in the L.B. Cole Studio in the 1940s, with work published by Rural Home, Narrative, and Hillman. Jackson also did a good amount of work for Eerie Publications (pencils & inks) in the early 1970s.

it’s exhausting to have to point this out every time the Y2K bug is brought up, but hey: it didn’t do as much damage as was feared because *lots of people worked very hard to raise awareness, prepare, and fix it*

The Y2K "bug" also wasn't even a bug but rather a deliberate coding choice made repeatedly as a cost-saving measure during a period when no one expected those systems would still be in service when the consequences would manifest. It's also a great anecdote in terms of technical debt remediation.

If you need to trim hedges, shrubberies, small tree branches, etc., the DeWalt cordless pruner is *fantastic*. So much easier and more convenient to use than loppers. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

Same here. I didn't fully appreciate back then how great the backgrounds were on the Inspector cartoons.

Not voiced by Jackie Mason, but rather John Byner impersonating Jackie Mason and/or Joey Bishop. (Byner also voiced the ant, but as Dean Martin.)

Finally, the untold secret inspiration behind the Roddenberry's original story for the "The Savage Curtain" episode of Star Trek. (There were obviously some rewrites along the way.)

all I had to do was click on one sticker ad on IG and suddenly my feed was full of other sticker ads. I clicked on them all and did the math for you. The best small-run samples pricing is at SlapCo; best overall pricing is at Sticker Cyborg or Sticker OG Factory. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
I use StickerGiant. I have for years. Their staff is friendly and their stickers are cheaper than Sticker Mule’s anyway.

If you’ve shared this but haven’t read it yet, you should. PEOPLE isn’t pulling punches. Just printing “Christian Nationalism” in relation to the platform of a presidential candidate is more than many pubs have done.

Yep. Mark Evanier explained it all a while back. The original British version of the comic adaptation coincided with the film's release in the UK (Oct. 1962) and then published in the U.S. in Jan. 1963, but still months ahead of the film's release in the States. www.newsfromme.com/2006/12/03/s...

Due to the four months between the comic coming out as an issue of Showcase and the film release, the comic didn't sell well and it seems that everyone forgot about the option to do a regular series until the ten-year option period was about to expire in the early 70s.

Senate Dems should take one of their assorted gun control bills off the shelf, rename it something like "Trump Assassination Prevention Act," and force Rs to do a talking filibuster to block it

It must seem almost like short-hop time travel on a weekly basis. You never quite know what kind of a future you're about to enter.

Apple wrote in this status update about my lawsuit that it plans to file its 4th motion to dismiss on Monday. I tried to negotiate w/ them last week, offering to possibly withdraw some claims if they drop the motion to dismiss. Apple said I'd have to withdraw all of the claims they want to dismiss.
Today, Apple and I filed our first joint statement on what Apple did to me. Our first Joint Case Management Statement is linked below. The first Case Management Conference is next week on 7/16 and open to the public to view on Zoom (link in the docket). storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Head's up for anyone trawling Amazon book listings for upcoming publishing plans via Advanced Search, properties licensed by Marvel are published by "Licensed Publishing", not Marvel.
