"Portion control" is not the appropriate response to someone who says they're exhausted with the things they're already trying to do.
"Move more!" To the person with no car, biking everywhere and putting 10km a day into pokemon go.
"The thing I struggle with most is the interoceptive awareness deficits I get from ADHD - every time I feel hunger, it's an emergency, and I don't feel full until hours after a meal, so every time I eat it's a conscious effort to decide when to stop, despite feeling no less hungry."
I am basically dealing with a multi-month emotional meltdown having just realized I had a terrible thing wrong that no one diagnosed b/c they just kept calling me fat.
do we ride at dawn and burn it all down? I have matches.
Holy shit that is FOUL! All my good vibes to you, dude, and may that doctor's pillow be warm on both sides and the insoles of all her shoes forever moist. My partner is dealing with similar fuckery atm, we're in the process of filling a complaint. I wish for better things ahead for you!
Oh that doctor––so f'ing unhelpful. By the way, every time I see your username in my feed, it brings me joy. Now imagining you giving the doctor that little wave...
At what point should one stop the doctor and inform them that the visit is now concluded and that they’re fired? For me that point arrived much earlier in this “conversation”, but perhaps I’m an extremist.
Hey Nome, are you eating /enough?/
I'm only asking because I had a stretch of time where I was eating until I was full, but I was still tired and miserable all the time. And at 10km a day, you're moving more than I was at that point.
Technically speaking it only happens to people who have the probability of diabetes in their genes. Even type 2. (Or in my case 1.5.)
It is (or at least that’s why my Diabetes nurse told me at the orientation) a hereditary condition.
Had a guy in my diabetes orientation group who got diagnosed while training for like his tenth marathon. (He was probably 1.5 like me but still fuck people who claim it’s a life style disease…)
Doctor says, know what, that clown Pagliacci is in town, I fucking hate that bastard, 7 years in medical school and they keep harping on about how medicine can’t compete with the comedy of the great Pagliacci, go and kill him & I’ll make sure you get the best medical care available.
But Doctor…
Motherfucking overpaid overprivileged narcissistic sociopaths who patient blame for a whole living, i hate them desperately
How much did that bullshit nonsense of an appointment set you back? Couple hundred $$$? Give or take whatever insurance extorts?
So done with this worthless system. So done.
