"Convicted criminal" "Rapist" "Con man" "Psychopath" "Racist" Get outta here with thinking "felon" is an edgy slam. Just describe reality and leave it at that. So you can throw in "asshole" too. It's not hard. This sturm und drang over "felon" comes from not knowing how 99% of the country speaks

Saw someone chastising those of us harping on canceling subscriptions to the holy goddamn New York Times. "And then what?" I dunno. What did you do when you stopped consuming Fox News? Maybe do that. Can't believe someone is upset by my suggesting they not reward lies with more money.

I was in my car 10 blocks away when the Facebook live was being shared about 10 minutes after the shooting, and drove over to it because it seemed so unreal. I’ll never forget standing there and staring at the car, trying to comprehend how it happened. We stayed until the car got towed away.
8 years ago today Philando Castile was murdered. The criminal legal system failed to convict the cop who shot him despite the recorded evidence. We had to watch that video live just 24 hours after we watched cops shoot Alton Sterling in the back. (The video does not play at link)

My sister, the pretentious mommy blog nutjob, who paid $5000 for a weirdo sheep dog who wound up having numerous congenital health problems and a brain the size of a pea, asked if we used "the Puppy Test" before we agreed to take our new girl. I texted back that we used the Voight-Kampff test.

Mississippi is the poorest state in the US. Even though the state gets federal welfare funds, it is difficult to get welfare. The money was all getting stolen, and they got away with it. Now the journalists who exposed the story are facing a lawsuit and jail. www.nbcnews.com/investigatio...

Lmao they just changed the title of the piece from “Why I don’t vote” to “Why I won’t vote” rather than tell readers that the guy actually does vote

I have not had one of my diverticulitis fevers in months. It felt like real progress. I still have my literally shitty problems, which keep me from working any kind of full-time job on a schedule, but I've been doing more part-time work. Then bad fever on Monday into Tuesday, and now another today.

The Boys does get a tad on the nose. It comes from an admirable dedication to satirizing human dregs who are so satire-proof that often it instead verges on parody. But that's a reason for more butthole stuff, not less. It's not like we get much butthole stuff elsewhere in pop culture. Unfortunately

Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.
He voted in both 2020 and 2022.

the answer to "is your life better now than it was four years ago?" is yes, because there is not a white Christian nationalist in the Oval Office

Bingo!
Notice how everyone is somehow talking about Biden Too Old right now, and NOT about how the Supreme Court just legalized Trump being a dictator for life and gutted the administrative state, and how the Heritage Foundation is now issuing terrorist threats? Think that might not be an accident?

I usually prefer to not have my posts takeoff. I don't need the tsuris that comes with randos noticing me and going postal for dumb reasons. But i didnt mind so much when a political post just went viral-ish, bc when those randos come in and whine, I'm glad they alerted me to my need to block them.

The old and patently crazy technique of torturing your child by pretending reality isn't a thing. What a way to parent. They see empathy and compassion as four letter words. Emotionally cruel and mathematically hopeless is a hell of a way to go thru life. How very Republican of them.
If you don't instantly recognize this sort of vindictive, over-the-top display of actively cutting off someone's contact with the outside world, count yourself extremely lucky.
