Lots of mad for lots of people for various actions and inactions over the last... 25 years I have been paying attention? And some more for shit I didn't pay attention to in my youth before that, if I am being totally honest.
remembering how she refused to step down bc she wanted Hillary to name her replacement, then decided to go officiate an unmasked wedding during a pandemic as a recovering million year old cancer patient, caught COVID and promptly expired handing her seat to Donald Trump
I still don't understand why the Federalist Society isn't being charged as a criminal conspiracy. It is, in fact, the common link among these six justices.
There is a clear conflict of interest that would force the recusal of any judiciary member who is a member of it. Assuming, of course, that they aren't already arrested.
There’a a good bit in The Grand Budapest Hotel where the character runs a little scam on the local fascists via rules lawyering early on.
The same character dies when he tries that again with fascism in bloom, and they just shoot them dead.
Feels reflective of where the debate is at the moment.
No no no. YOU didn’t say that. THE DIPSHIT YOU ARE SKEWERING said that. That’s what happened. Going to pretend I didn’t see you say it was a typo you made
Not really. She fucked up, but it’s Republicans who are *doing this to* us.
Nobody has the emotional resource to be mad at everyone. I save mine for the actual fascist agents.
i'm not voting for biden because trump was already defeated by @grabthispussyhat2k16 tweeting a black and white illustration of ruth bader ginsburg with the text "do not dispair, DISSENT" and using the hashtag drump
And while I don’t know if it would have made a difference, I think Obama and the Dems should have fought a hell of a lot harder for that SCOTUS pick McConnell denied him.
Why? Dobbs, immunity, Snyder, affirmative action, student loans were all decided 6-3. Most cases since RBG's death have been decided 6-3, and those that were 5-4 or something else were mostly not as impactful. She probably should've stepped down anyway, but it wouldn't have prevented these decisions
What’s the point? A lot of failures, too many, on the part of supposed defenders of democracy led to this. The hubris of power & power chasers is why Dems fail every time
Well, her and the folks behind this shit.
If they weren't actually Leonard Leo's henchmen, I'm not sure those henchmen would have played it any differently.
Legitimate question: how are you so sure that McConnell would have “allowed” Obama to replace Ginsberg? Look at how McConnell blocked Garland. I truly believe McConnell would have come up with a reason to not allow Obama to replace Ginsberg.
It was Scalia, not Ginsburg. And as I said above, I’m not sure at all. I just think his going around asking pretty please was pretty weak. Reagan would go out on tour and ask his supporters to call and write Congress. Did he even do that? I don’t hate Obama either, btw.
