How much discretion does a former president have over his secret service detail? Is it a take it or leave it situation or are they hand picked by the former presidents staff? I could see Trump picking folks more for loyalty points than their abilities to actually do the job.

Boeing is pleading guilty to a fraud that killed over 300 people. Their punishment is fines. At least one person made a decision to perpetuate this fraud, so why is nobody going to jail? If corporations have the same rights as people, they should face the same criminal liabilities as well.

I think much of the 'plow thru it' mentality of higher level DNC folks is the knowledge that anyone at the top of the ticket will be torn down over time by the right wing media for any potential fault. Big or small. Its what they do. Does it make them blind to actual faults? Maybe.

My addition to Assange discourse: his leaks were likely directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Afghan civilian informants because they were totally uncensored and then virtually all were dead within a year. When asked about it in an interview, he mused that they probably deserved it.

Legislation needs to catch up real quick on the use of AI to do stuff like this.
