I think, ultimately, The Acolyte is a series with a lot of very good ideas, that aren't always necessarily executed in the best way. An interesting compromised finale, for an interestingly compromised show! Really hope it gets to grow and mature instead of ending here.

Thankfully there’s a lot of basic filmmaking it *is* executing well to be a great ride (except when it grinds to a halt).

The Acolyte: Good show, fine finale, every episode needed the same 42-49 minute runtime. Would enjoy a season 2 that’s got less ankle weights around its legs.

The Acolyte finale was this show in a nutshell: great right pacing with stunning visuals and then a hard swerve into “why the hell did they do it THAT way?!” Maddening. Infuriating. 8/10 the unevenness is now a point in its favor I am in full Stockholm syndrome* *Stockholm syndrome does not exist

I’m legitimately stunned. The courts are working overtime to assert that Donald John Trump is entirely above the law.

Cannon is out here saying she knows better than the Supreme Court!!!!

Judge Cannon ruled that she was not bound by a Supreme Court case that expressly said the attorney general was authorized to appoint a special prosecutor.

American courts being Calvinball is kind of nothing new but I’m bowled over that they’re letting Trump be Calvin.
