My birthday is in late summer, and I mostly grew up in that area. It rained on my birthday nearly every year when I was a kid. Not so much now, though.

Too much raccoon, by volume alone. I saw one like that, once, walking home at night from a late shift at work. I doubled back and went a different route. Trash pandas the size of small bears are best avoided.

My hip slipped out of joint today and despite it getting popped back in, stretches, massage, and ibuprofen, thus being able to walk with a cane without screaming every step, I still can't lie down.

Turns out I needed my cane today, because things spasmed up and pulled my hip out of joint so that every step was a scream. Feeling a little better after various self treatment, but can't lie down or sleep.

I'm sad today, which may be related to terrible news of various kinds or related to the fact that I am almost out of my food in a household where we won't have money to shop until next week, so I've barely eaten anything. Kids and spouse have plenty of food. Mostly things I physically cannot eat.

I'm just going to say this again: We *all* have to eat what the majority chooses. Is it poison? Is it shit? Not voting is a vote for the majority. Write-ins that say "nobody" or "mickey mouse" are the same as not voting. VOTE. Vote like lives depend on it. Because they do.

I characterized the last two elections as an unavoidable choice between a turd and a stick of rat poison. You can either choose horrible death by rat poison, or inevitable (but treatable) dysentery via feces. Everyone eats what the majority chooses. No abstentions. This one feels the same.

After telling someone to throw out yet another useless book of advice for neurodivergent people clearly written by someone who isn’t neurodivergent I have one tip re developing a habit w ADHD: make it really easy to implement. Kids dropping wrappers on floor? Put out more trash cans in those areas

The problem with this is that a Big Part of ADHD is executive function issues, which include wildly underestimating how long it takes *you* to do something. "It'll take me five minutes to do that" except that it take 2-4 hours to get to that 5 minutes.
