“Share Your Story”: Legacies of Online Collectingdoi.org In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we as historians knew that we had witnessed a major set of events and that we would not be able to fully ass

one element of Grants Pass is that it’s not just about whether you can enforce anti-camping laws against the homeless. it’s about whether you can enforce those laws **even when you haven’t provided adequate shelter beds**
First decision is Grants Pass. Gorsuch has the 6-3 opinion finding that the Eighth Amendment does not bar "generally applicable" laws banning public camping. Sotomayor writes the dissent. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...

The only people who've ever held Trump meaningfully accountable over the last nine years have been ordinary Americans and they've spent that entire time being lectured to and berated by elites who've failed to do anything.

This article has been in the works for some time, and it articulates how, in the process of scaling the pilot project, we chose to reuse existing Zooniverse tools and infrastructure in creative ways, in service of sustainable development practices, rather than building something from scratch.

I was lucky to get to work with Will on Scribes of the Cairo Geniza, and benefitted deeply from his vast knowledge and infectious enthusiasm for the work we were doing. This is a huge loss for the field. My thoughts are with his family and colleagues and the rest of our SotCG cohort.
The Founding Director of the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies, Dr Will Noel, passed away earlier this week. His vision for SIMS and his efforts to make our work possible can't be overstated. He will be dearly missed. whyy.org/articles/wil...

Yes, please realize that this IS policing in the U.S. This isn't "bad apples" or "a glitch." Cops ARE VIOLENCE WORKERS. This is what they are. If you're finally convinced, don't just passively allow 50 to 60% of your municipal budgets to be allocated yearly to violence workers.
