Well, I think you are enough as you are and if people can't accept you as you are, that's their problem. Not yours. Also, all the more reason to take care of yourself.
Yeah, that's fair. Nothing wrong with wanting people you can talk to/having empathy for people, still gotta make sure to look out for yourself so people don't take advantage of your kindness.
I’m not a reporter but I did have a blogroll once, so here’s some follow-ups for the former president that seem important: which parts of Project 2025 do you disagree with? Would you appoint anyone to your admin that is supporting it? How do you feel about the “bloodless if the left allows” comment?
We're not talking about blind adoration, we're talking about defeating fascism. See France's election today. You either unite against fascism or you get fascism. It's that simple, and the only way forward is to unite behind Biden since we already had a primary.
Dem weirdos dreaming up tournament-style solutions to Joe Biden being the nominee and Catturd-grade reactionary types crying about cheating in the French election have one crucial thing in common, which is that they transparently lack the emotional maturity and patience required to be sports fans.
The main problem as I see it in Harris or anyone else taking over unless Biden dies, is that the longer we fight among ourselves ; that helps Trump = helps fascism. So the obvious best way forward is winning an election under the only unifying person. Joe Biden, we can worry about the rest later.
I disagree. Unless Biden dies, I don't support her at the top of the ticket. Joe Biden for better or worse is the proven winner against Trump in elections & the only one who ever has, no doubt Harris can do the job but whether or not she can win a campaign is an entirely different matter.
That's why we should make sure we win back the House/keep the Senate. So that if Harris does need to step in, she can and we'll have a VP we actually want. Biden is fine until the election though. Which is all that matters atm.
The story of the French election is not the left compromising to back the center and stop the far right. That's arguably the story of Macron's presidential election, but not this.
The story of this parliamentary election is left and center both compromising to stop the far right.
Just be honest, you don't actually want to help anyone. The choice this November is between a flawed Republic, or fascism. It's that simple. Meanwhile you'd rather enable the fascist by encouraging a vote that will help exactly nobody. Just be honest, the only person you care about is you.
BREAKING NEWS: Voters turned out in numbers not seen in decades to stop the far-right National Rally from taking power in the French National Assembly. Polls predicted a first-place finish for National Rally, which instead came in third in initial results as polling stations closed.
Complaining about our two party system has always been a rather pointless thing IMO, unless you can go back in time & warn the founders there is no changing our two party system. So work with you have.
It's not as if things are "broken," no matter what CNN says. It's that right wing people are deliberately making it this way all over because they hate humanity and everything good about humans, and they don't love anything.
I think ultimately what makes you a conservative is privilege and the need to protect your privilege. Boomers had everything, but because the world changed in ways they don't like they've done their best to burn it all down. Leaving a world worse than they found it.
Keeping Biden on the ticket has always been what makes the most sense, that being said we should make sure we win back the house/keep the Senate so if Kamala does need to step in after January 20th, she has a vice President that she actually wants. Granted, we should have always done that anyway.
I have no idea the best path re Biden but I do know a solid week straight of “Biden Old” and “Rich Dems Worried” above-the-fold stories are *obscene* in the face of SCOTUS using the Constitution to wipe their asses purely in the service of reinstating a felon rapist as president. Crazy-making shit.
Correct. Trumpism has lost every election since 2017, EVERY SINGLE ELECTION. Also, if that wasn't bad enough for Trump. The stakes are very clear because of SCOTUS. Roe being overturned/Monday's ruling on immunity make it very clear what will happen if Trump wins in November.
If it helps, Trumpism has lost every single election since 2017. Every single one. The only reason Trump won in 2016 is because without having any experience in politics you could sort of believe whatever you wanted about Trump. SCOTUS has made the stakes of schedule F much more clearer.
What annoys me about all the doomerism is that we're in better position than we were in 2020, or even 2016 (granted the stakes are higher). Also, it's probably a good thing that people are fucking terrified of what happens if Trump wins in November. They should be. Don't doom, organize.
1/ I'm agnostic as to whether Biden should withdraw from the race. It's a genuinely tough question IMO.
But I have clarity on one thing: He should absolutely not step down as president.
If Harris becomes President, the Vice Presidency is empty. Under the 25th Amendment ...
Trumpism has lost every fucking election since 2017, every single one. Indeed, we even did this fucking election BEFORE in 2020. So, I'm skeptical that people have changed their mind on Trump when he's objectively worse NOW than he was in 2016, or 2020 & the danger is so much more clear too.
sticking with Biden is the obvious correct choice until and unless Biden decides otherwise, and anyone who suggests otherwise is either dishonest, an idiot, or a handmaiden of fascism.
It's been interesting to see the consensus on this site harden in realtime around the idea that not only is sticking with Biden the obvious correct choice for Dems no matter what other facts might emerge, but that anyone who suggests otherwise is either dishonest, an idiot or a handmaiden of fascism
