Wow, it's weird how the media narrative of a far right populist wave keeps crashing against reality in every country that actually requires them to win a majority of votes to take power
The 2nd leading pollster projects a similar result—if anything a higher range for the Left coalition. This wld be a much stronger result than expected for the Macron bloc. If confirmed, key takeaway: Left & Macronist voters transferred onto each other much more than expected. Clear anti-RN front.

there are exactly two kinds of people who convert to Catholicism as present day adults, knowing all that is publicly known about the church’s rampant fuckery: either you are here to fuck shit up from the inside to push the church to where it SHOULD be ….. or the fuckery was a feature and not a bug
The Harrison Butker speech is exhibit six thousand for that meme about recent Catholic converts wanting to send everyone to reeducation camps while lifelong Catholics provide shelter to immigrants and the poor.

Speaking of “uses for new tech that aren’t incredibly evil”:
I’m very impressed by all the new multimedia stuff that’s being done with VR and projection mapping at Rome’s ancient sites nowadays. This is the multimedia tour at the House of Augustus, and I’m doing the Domus Aurea VR tour later.

Here is is: my long-threatened tradwife piece. Come for my takedown of the tradwife as a fantasy of renouncing adulthood; stay for the inquiry into a very confused and sloppy pro-tradwife book, which appears to make a choice feminist case for lobotomies. www.bookforum.com/print/3004/l...

you do not to be competent to do awful, terrible damage to a country. i strongly recommend people actually read up on the reality of Nazi governance. that we think of the Nazi state as somehow competent and efficient is a propaganda victory for the ages

Feel like running the very famous and cool brand Vice, especially with how low they paid people, would be a self sustaining business if only 45 people doing nothing weren’t making like 19 million a year.

Wow, that video seems like it has compelling information. Unfortunately, watching it would take at least ten times as long as reading an article covering the same material, so I won't be clicking play.

I know our major media outlets are busy doing 10 stories per day about Ivy League campus intrigue but I feel like the fact that 215 bodies were discovered in a pit behind a jail in Jackson MS earlier this year probably merited a mention or two. Maybe even a few follow up questions.

Boeing is apparently trying to throw Spirit Aerosystems under the bus for their role in this the 737 MAX issue. I was curious who Spirit Aerosystems is, and apparently it's Boeing's former Wichita division that they sold off to private equity in 2005 and outsources parts to. Hmm. Hmm!

The maddening thing about 'let the people decide' is Trump lost the popular vote by a 2.9 mil margin in '16 and then attempted a coup when he lost by 7 mil 4 yrs later. His party lost every year in between. The people have decided repeatedly and there's no guarantee we wouldn't have a repeat of '16.
