I don't even like Colin Allred that much, but I think I'm going to do some block walking for him this year.
Avatar
Yeah, I voted for Gutierrez in the primary. But encouraging people to vote D by targeting that massive a-hole should be a winning tactic. Even his own party thinks he's a jerk.

Didn't John Boehner say he could get murdered and no one in the Senate would vote to convict the perpetrator?

In 2000 as a young lawyer, Ted worked for the Bush campaign’s legal team. Apparently he met Bush once and after the meeting Bush said “I just don’t like that guy.”
Avatar
He is so viscerally and profoundly unlikable

The most evil war criminals alive find him weird and off-putting.

Once again wondering how he hasn't been primaried.

Anywhere in America, running away from your state during a natural disaster would pretty much disqualify you from reelection. I'm wishing you the best of luck.

🤣🤣Wow, in that instance I don't know who I hate more. I suppose Dubya was supposed to be charming but I always found him smarmy.

I donated to Allred. Cruz has to go.
Avatar
I fucking hate Allred and spent the whole primary responding to his volunteers that I would donate to his campaign when he called got a ceasefire, and also, nothing on this Earth would give me more pleasure than the end of Cruz's political career.
Avatar
Please do it out of spite for Cruz for those of us in other states who can't.
Avatar
And hey, nobody ACTUALLY likes Ted Cruz that much, even among Republicans.
Avatar
We need a Dem Senate as much as we need a Dem Pres, maybe more.

I like Colin (from what I've seen heard from him on Lawrence O'Donnell's show) but I don't live in Texas.

I can't get my hopes up, but PLEASE let this happen

I can't really believe that Trump has 9 points on Biden in TX but Cruz is only up 3. Who is going to vote Trump in the General and against Ted? (Note:I do think Trumps numbers are inflated accross the board.)
Avatar
I think that since they got rid of straight ticket voting, the people who are just big on Trump might not vote down ballot. I don't know. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Avatar
Also, even the conservatives in Texas can't stand Cruz - he skates by every election on party loyalty and Ken Paxton's voter suppression
Avatar
Yea maybe a few. But I feel limee most Trump supporters are all in. We know from 2020 that some voted AGAINST him, but for Rs down ballott.
Avatar
I think it's the opposite. There are a lot of Biden-leaning voters who are uncomfortable committing, so they're officially "undecided". Many won't vote, but those that do vote will vote Biden/Allred.
Avatar
Unfortunately that probably means another year where Texas is surprisingly close but Trump and Cruz still win, but it would be a good sign for other states.
Avatar
Yea, but I do think the closer a State like TX is the better it is from a political capital perspective when they win again. Plus we need every swing house member possible, and every state has some.
Avatar
A local R candidate has more real estate on the front of his temporary HQ advertising names of other R candidates than anything else. I assume that’s so his rubes will know what the other names they need to pick are. The permanent D offices? Not a single name. Stark difference.

I will get Daft Punk to play at my house if this happens and everyone's invited

It's interesting that the low name-recognition of his opponent is mentioned in the context of it giving Republicans a chance to define him negatively ... ... with no mention of the possibility that as his name recognition grows, his support could also grow.
Avatar
Won't football guys know who he is?
Avatar
He played for Tennessee. I have no idea how good he was - if he was known by anyone who follows football. I sure hope he takes out cruz!
Avatar
Probably not unless they’re a Titans fan or a gambler. He was an undrafted free agent, played only 4 seasons, & at a defensive position (casual fans don’t usually follow individuals on defense, but do for offensive positions.) But I would think “former NFL player” would get a 2nd look w/some people
Avatar
I wonder too if he’s run out of or is running low on money bc I was getting 2 txts/wk for several months a few months ago and then nothing
My only regret from moving out of Texas 2 years ago is that I forfeited my chance to vote against Ted Cruz.
Avatar
I chipped in, he beats the heck out of Cruz. It would be nice to have a senator to yell at who I think might listen and/or care about the issues I do, for a change.

You’d really just be doing him a favor by giving him more time to podcast & run away to Cancun.
Avatar
I see that Cancun is getting hit by a hurricane. Poor Ted must be very worried.
Avatar
Teddie Cruxpin is clutching his pearls just like Senators Graham and Collins. Teddy never saw a French fry he didn’t love, and couldn’t run away from a pair of dumbbells fast enough. Yet calls Dem weak. Keep throwing your daughters under the bus for your own non-existent intestinal fortitude. Loser.
Avatar
Fatphobia and body-shaming is unacceptable, no matter the candidate.
Avatar
Sorry. Teddie Cruxpin’s physically embodies the gluttony of his political beliefs. I can help noting the similarity. Still, it wouldn’t kill him to spend 10 minutes on a tread climber so what comes out of his mouth doesn’t echo his body image.
Avatar
Ted Cruz looks like he has hairy balls on his chin.
Avatar
He’s been insulated in that seat for so long it’s hard to get your hopes up but by god if Indiana could go for Obama (if only once) back in the day then this can also happen. Good luck!
Avatar
It would give me a great deal of pleasure to see this POS lose his seat.
Avatar
Send Colin money. That might help
