Look how fun shutting down fascists is. I want this for us, too

easy to chalk the stuff in france up to some vague platitude about ~voting~ but it feels to me like more proof that you have to give people something to vote FOR, and that socialism remains better equipped to beat fascism than liberalism does! just one gal’s opinion

The opting out is especially wild Like, Republican governors are being actively presented with money to feed kids and affirmatively saying 'I would like children to starve actually' (Also, if I'm a Dem campaigner, I'm making some ads and placing some op eds about this immediately)
The governors of a dozen Republican-led states — AL, AK, FL, GA, IA, MS, OK, SC, SD, TX, UT, WY — opted out of a new federal food assistance program, leaving about 9.5 million students without the aid this summer

BREAKING NEWS: Voters turned out in numbers not seen in decades to stop the far-right National Rally from taking power in the French National Assembly. Polls predicted a first-place finish for National Rally, which instead came in third in initial results as polling stations closed.

I feel like the trick with Project 2025 is exactly the same as the WGA strike. little snippet screencaps going viral all over normie social media that make some shocking thing you had no idea about instantly digestible to anyone regardless of their information level or background

As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

There’s a nigh infinite number of books to be written about the early decades of the FDA. Every claim of “The market will fix it because consumers will demand clean/safe $ITEM” only works if: 1) The market provides such a thing, despite monopolies. 2) It actually is and not marketing bullshit.
WE remember the convenience pitches, but sanitation/hygiene/health pitches were VERY common at the time: Our Brand Won't Kill You Thanks to SCOTUS we'll find out empirically, again, which brands of food will kill us.

This IMO is one of the reasons the Israeli anti reform protests were as successful as they were. The protestors were immediately arguing for Israel, making Netanyahu the anti Israel stance. People love their countries. Lean into that.
i don't talk about it as much in this piece but it could not be more obvious that dressing yourself up in the rhetoric of America as irredeemably evil might play well to the online crowd but wrapping the very same idea in a red white and blue flag is how you win real change

Black people already knew. All the violent extremism of Trumpism hit us first & is still hitting us that other Americans never care about, & we're also equipped to survive the extremities of totalitarianism because we've borne brunt of America's fascism for centuries. Good luck to the rest.
I really don’t think most people realize just how hard the boot will come down if Trump and the Republicans win the election. Most people have never experienced the totalitarian surveillance state with the power to reach into their homes and minds at will they are telling us is their plan.

Similarly, it's always better to organize when the Dems are in power: they make concessions more easily than the Rs. Your job as a leftist is to take the concessions, while pointing out to others that we need more power to get what we need. It's called critical support. It's leftism 101. Read.

This sort of thing is my bag baby!
"I don't know anything about Project 2025" says man recording Project 2025 promotional video in front of Project 2025 publication. More substantively, Project 2025 has embraced Trump and Miller's immigration approach of using power to close both legal and illegal immigration.

I have been saying for at least a decade and a half that this is a major unexploited wedge issue for Democrats.
“They want to eliminate national parks” is a very simple way to get just about anyone on the Stop Project 2025 train. Are there much more glaring and life-threatening goals of P25? Yes but even your most bigoted cousin does not want to see the parks system sold for parts.

genuinely hopeful sign that every big name GOP garbage monster is frantically trying to distance themselves from Project Say The Quiet Part Loud In an Easily-Digestible Bullet Point Format About Which There Can Be No Confusion. this means we should all absolutely continue never shutting up about it

Lessons I've learned from the LLM era (list to be expanded, probably): 1. Sufficiently advanced autocomplete is indistinguishable from an impossibly well-read toddler on peyote. 2. Almost any decision has the potential to be a life-or-death decision, if you're bad enough at it.

This!! Start with “they want to end no fault divorce, sell national parks, and ban porn” end with tax structure.

Not everyone has gotten that the piece I wrote below is satire. It is, intended to convey how the media would cover Biden denying connections with his closest aides. But the reality is that when Trump does it, it barely merits a mention. NYT front page is all Biden. Trump's lies not covered.
Trump said “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it.” But Project 2025 is run by Trump's closest aides, raising concerns about cognitive fitness for a candidate who seems unable to recall those around him. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/troubling-...

Project 2025 itself should be a big I ongoing story, and the Trump bigwigs lying about having nothing to do with it should be a big story on top of that. Instead the media is gonna accept the disavowal at face value and write another story about Biden being old.
Stephen Miller now following Trump's lead and saying he has nothing to do with Project 2025. 1. His organization is on the Project 2025 advisory board. 2. He recorded a video as part of Project 2025 training tools 3. You can see Mandate for Leadership, the Project 2025 publication in the background

On Joe Biden’s worst day (the debate) he was still better than this
This was a speech during which he did not have to answer any questions, he supposedly knew where he was going to be several days ahead of time, and this is what he came up with

The thing about HRT is: if you want it, you probably need it.

There's only so many times you can cower behind "It's all kayfabe, both parties are the tools of Capital!" and "(X social program that's saved mid-six-digit numbers of lives from misery minimum) is just scraps from the table!" until I think you want to whine and not Build Socialism.

I want to bop all the doubters and leakers over the head with a copy of Project 2025. There's very little time to waste and they're just making things harder! If you had doubts about Biden's chances, you should've spoken up earlier. What everyone in the party should be doing NOW is 👇
Nothing is stopping every single Democratic elected official and apparatchik from taking the airwaves every single day to articulately and decisively repeat a set of cogent talking points about Trump (ie 45). Nothing. Dem PACs could be slamming him with ads now. Stop whining and do that.

Our elders are here with us today because they have endured great hardship and they have much wisdom to teach the rest of us and the fact the default American reaction to someone having their first wrinkle is to treat them as a lobotomite, much less how they act towards real elders, is vile.

I am not kidding when I say that Romancing the Vote has out-organized and done more to materially improve conditions in the southeastern US than any explicitly leftist org. Romancelandia ain't here to fuck around.
Bree says: we also have some very high value items where another will be offered to the runner-ups if they match the highest bid. Last year we pulled in $20k on that alone. This year we're MUCH more organized about it. 💗

This is particularly important to understand because Trumpist authoritarianism is the descendent of Jim Crow far more than say Hitler or Pinochet or Orban, and it's going to look a lot more like 1930s Mississippi than 1930s Berlin.
For most of its history, America hasn’t been a democracy, by any meaningful definition of the term! This isn’t some It Can’t Happen Here shit, in a way, it’s already happened. It just may not have directly affected you.
