Semantically incoherent meat popsicle of questionable value with occasional phrase in a strange language. Potato aficionado.

I recommend taking five to ten minutes to put your US rep, US senators, and state and local elected officials into your phone contacts so you can instantly call them whenever you get mad, which will be every day from now until we die.

Not the most terrifying thing but perhaps the most infuriating: every single thing we said about these fascist Republican fucks has been proved out and all the people who assured us that what is happening would never happen smoothly pivoted to yes it's happening but it will be fine.

if your biggest institutional backers are having the conversation "can we weekend at bernies this to avoid the cost of switching" you're not running a healthy campaign

Yep. One of the biggest blind spots people have is assuming that underneath, others share the same basic values as them. They have trouble imagining an ideology that is completely misaligned with theirs.

I can’t believe the Supreme Court just ruled that the president can sleep outdoors in a public space.

/8 At any rate, congratulations to the Federalist Society for an achievement beyond the reach of the British, outside the grasp of bloody civil war, impossible to Nazis and Soviets and terrorists: defeating the American idea.

Look at vaccine development. There was once a human vaccine for lyme disease, it was killed a quarter century ago by anti-vaxxers destroying its profit margin.

Capitalism is incompatible with long-term, long-running projects. Picture someone's cochlear implant turning into a brick, forever.

One of the side effects of a perpetual and ever increasing amount of information overload is to be stuck in a moment that seems to be apart from the natural flow of history and time. it keeps those ensnared in a perpetual state of exhaustion, fear and ambiguity and outside of time.

Yale Dean Pericles Lewis admits that his email implying that the Yale student protestors PEACEFULLY occupying Grove and College were people with a “known history of violent confrontation with police” was based on NO EVIDENCE and that he was “repeating speculation.”

Y2K, the Ozone Hole, and Acid Rain should be constantly highlighted as models for successful coordination to solve a shared problem.
We learned the wrong lesson from Y2K. We should have learned that if we anticipate a crisis then coordinate and work hard, we can avert that crisis. Instead we learned, "why are these people freaking out? It's no big deal."

Ко мне пришла Фрося, ее погладить. У нее ушки похожи на крылья пингвина. И поэтому когда чесать сразу за двумя ушами, можно сделать уи-уи и крылышки машут, вверх вниз

What I find fascinating is that in any sci-fi drama only the main protagonist is allowed to change clothes

We all are going to die one day or the other. Hubby went to bed saying, there is no need to fret over Israel / Iran war: we will either read about it in the morning or will see it outside with our own eyes.

That, to me, is the absolutely central thing here: AI as UX is fine, and in some cases even actively positive. AI as decision-making, or as an excuse to replace staff, or deflect responsibility, or as a source of information, or to generate disinformation is just so, so dangerous.
