Someone sent this to me and it’s mostly dumb and amusing but there’s actually a core point here worth emphasizing, which is: if I were in a room with Sydney Sweeney I would do my best not ogle here because it’s rude and boorish to do so!
And the broader point here is how much antisocial behavior is now embraced and coded as conservative and pro-social behavior is coded as left wing! They’ve decided that not being a gross weirdo is “woke.”

Their entire media ecosystem was set up precisely as a way to give themselves permission t be as awful as they’ve always wanted to be. Which is part of how you can tell it’s fundamentally propaganda.
While it was obviously very much not intended that way, I think you should take it as a compliment that their example of the opposite of all that is apparently you.
It's because they see it as a show of power. Dominance. Being at a point in the hierarchy where they do not have to give any respect to anyone, but they have to get deference to their bullshit.
When I see Sydney Sweeney I just think "damn, nice cans" in my internal monologue, taking up about 1.5 seconds of my life, making a minor mental note of the lovely cans I had just witnessed.
Then I kinda just move on because I have other stuff to worry about and I'm not a weird creep.

It’s also just a wildly inaccurate picture of most “progressive” academic environments, as any female grad student, staff person, or (especially junior) faculty member could tell you 😑
It's pretty weird how you might want to talk to a woman as a fellow human being and, perhaps, get some mutual recognition of the human condition rather just humping her leg.
As a foreigner this is just America to me (but ok turned up to 11)
