Yet another story the media just doesn’t think is all that interesting: Trump goons breaking into his doctor’s office and stealing all his medical records

Would a statement from the “White House physician” that Biden is perhaps the healthiest president in history, and that he’s built like a linebacker do the trick? And would you not then elect that physician to Congress? No? I don’t get it.

Might have put the same headline on a picture of a golf cart, with an “Out to Lunch” sign hanging on the Resolute Desk. But they didn’t.

IMO this is a straight-up ageist and ableist image, no?

Absolutely, and let me tout my less-radical-than-it-seems suggestion of what to do about SCOTUS: sortition. Only the role of the chief justice is constitutionally enshrined. Write a Judiciary Act prescribing that the other seats get filled by a yearly random draw from the courts of appeals.

i mentioned this before but the last week or two has fully clarified that the rest of our lives is a drag-out fight against the supreme court that starts with priming the public to enthusiastically support — or at the very least resist decorum-based media calls against — completely rebuilding it

Judge Juan Merchan moved sentencing to September 18 which means that Trump won't be able to appeal to SCOTUS before Election Day So, he'll have to run as a convicted felon

An argument I made to Barack Obama in 2009, to no avail. But to be fair, he was president and I was a blogger. So nothing was really going to happen, even if he had agreed with me.

Reminder that even if Democrats drag Biden or someone else over the finish line, the threats to democracy will still remain. One party winning every time is not a plan (nor a democracy). And the president will still have the power to commit crimes with impunity even if the next one doesn't use it.
