What good is seeing-eye chocolate? What good is a computerized nose? What good’s Sanskrit read to a pony? Not much, I guess, not much at all.

Your points are well-taken, though! A lot of this could come down to “Biden got sick in May right before an exhausting diplomatic schedule followed by a debate followed by media campaign nonsense, and he simply hasn’t gotten better yet.” We just don’t really know!

To be fair, Moshe Dayan was a child soldier who fought in two wars and three civil insurgencies, lost an eye, was held as a POW, and served as a military commander at all levels and at 38 /still/ looked twenty years younger than Miller.

may have been simply looking at a number of normal geriatric disorders and decided to call in specialists to verify that they weren’t looking at a serious disorder such as Parkinson’s; the presence of clinical specialists, even over multiple visits, doesn’t signal the presence of their specialty.

I think all this is consistent with Biden having some nonspecific geriatric disorders — for example, pathologic presbyphonia increasingly seems more likely to me than an ongoing cold — and the WHMO getting out ahead of it, medically speaking, by bringing in specialists to rule out differential dxs.

Yeah, I probably should have reached for “sycophant” there.

Just to be clear, this is Silicon Valley VC bro/Musk acolyte David Sacks coming down on the side of the Le Pen family, whose patriarch called Nazi gas chambers a "minor detail" of history and whose ex-wife alleged he nicknamed Hitler "Uncle Dolfie" while snarling "The Jews are invading France."
It’s amazing the extent to which our billionaire tech bro overlords are just telling us out loud that they are rooting for fascism. Makes me slightly nostalgic for the days when American plutocrats plotted against democracy in secret.

A cardboard box that’s a centrist former NFL linebacker / lawyer / Obama official, so the favorability gap probably doesn’t improve for Teddarino there.

You’re going to get more airflow with those just from diameter and capturing the rising hot air, but you got me if it actually does a better job or if it’s mostly aesthetic (obv. my barrel smoker has one, but when I grill I do so directly on the offset firebox, which is pretty much just a furnace).

I believe the theory is that it allows air circulation inside the grill, removing temperature differentials while the lid is closed.

I don’t know about you, but I was starting to miss the Democratic Party being a constant fucking clownshow of circular firing squads helmed by politicos and campaign operatives intent on auditioning to be part of the next Carville/Matalin ripoff CNN morning show or whatever. Good to be home again.
We had a moment in which we could have treated this like a rerun of but her emails ratfuckery and reject it outright, circle the wagons, and put up a defense. Instead we (and again, most damaging, elected officials) prioritized getting “honest and smart” points like this is a normal election.

The logic is circular. Biden's infirmity is the story. Other things can't be the story, because they're not the story. Why is Biden the story? Because he's the story. If the threat of Trump is the story, why isn't it already the story? And on and on.
