Someone (not me) will figure it out eventually and whatever it looks like it will still be abundantly obvious what I and anyone with a brain should do on election day.

Not that anyone is asking me, but I have no idea what the Democrats should do right now. All the options seem bad, and there isn’t one that seems less bad than the others. And as a professional opinion-haver, it’s disorienting to have no strong opinion about something so enormously consequential.

The Court ruling today is terrible but expected. I will just gently remind everyone that the election hasn’t happened yet. We shouldn’t assume the worst outcome as a foregone conclusion. That only encourages more apathy than many are already feeling.

It’s pretty easy to assemble a bunch of random data points showing that it’s tough to be poor, and those aren’t wrong, but they really do not address the core mystery. It was just as tough to be poor in 2019 - mostly tougher, honestly - and economic sentiment was sky-high.

This is an odd takeaway for an ad campaign leveraging FUD from worker anxiety over the potential to be made obsolete by AI.
