This remains my preoccupying thought.
I'm a single-issue voter. My single issue is that I'd like to continue voting.

every day there’s a new headline like this. nobody will face any consequences, and there’s nothing you can do about it. to be an american is to be powerless before megacorporations and bad actors. you have no rights they are bound to respect, and almost no recourse when you’re inevitably fucked

The Adventures of Bob and Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew. Mad dash moments overlaid on an homage to Shakespeare's "Hamlet."
Alright timeline cleanser time: What are some bad movies that you unironically love? I don’t mean like MST3K love here. It’s not a good movie, but you enjoy it on its own merits anyway I am starting with The Accountant

Just found out about a massive data leak at Twitter/X. I don't use it anymore but I keep my account alive so no one else can claim my username. I just changed my password and suggest others do too. Also use 2FA whenever you can. More: cyberpress.org/9-4gb-twitte...

This is the tradcath weirdo whom the @nytimes.com is publishing to tell you not to vote. You should not listen to him. Instead, you should shove his ass into a locker and burn the entire campus containing said locker to the ground. (The campus is Hillsdale)

As far as I'm concerned anyone telling people not to vote, in this election or any other, is doing for malign purposes, and the only correct response is "Well now I am going to vote EVEN HARDER."
see also the posts floating around pointing out that the author of that piece has voted in the last few elections according to voter records

Relevant to that NYT piece that's going around...if your vote didn't still matter, they wouldn't be trying everything to convince you it was worthless.
He voted in both 2020 and 2022.

Sorry, folks, this year "no vote" is a vote for fascism, don't be that person, voting is a necessary if not entirely sufficient act

Reminder from a Pittsburgher who was at one point Mr. Rogers neighbor: “Look for the helpers” was intended to be advice for his usual audience, children. We’re grown ups now. We’re supposed to be the helpers.

This man is making his evil intentions as crystal-clear as they possibly could be, and everyone who cares about humanity should be blasting that message out in every possible venue.

This is one of the most dystopian signs I've ever seen. Republicans are quickly turning this country into an unrecognizable freakshow.

I honestly believe that a lot of conservative strategizing is based on the correct assumptions that liberals would never be as ruthless as they are.

There are MUCH more important implications for the overturning of the Chevron doctrine. But in my aviation world it's gonna be nuts. You have any idea how many hair brained homebuilt aircraft/spacecraft the FAA is keeping grounded? Cuz you're about to find out.

@hollyconrad.bsky.social Glad you found your way here. It's amazing how much more... untense? (was gonna say relaxed, but that's not quite right) Bluesky is than the cesspool that Twitter has turned into.

Wild that SCOTUS saying "bribes of government officials are just tips, really" is gonna end up as like the eighth-worst thing they did this month

It's a hard-scamming account -- the first I've seen on Bluesky. Please report to Bluesky then Block. This is my only account here.
Yes, I did that. Was actually trying to contact you. I went to your website even.

As SCOTUS opinions come out, I highly recommend following Chris and Law Dork for informative timely coverage.
JAMES! Thank you. Law Dork is where it’s at: www.lawdork.com

@chrisgeidner.bsky.social What's probably a really stupid question: I'm assuming that the SCOTUS has reached decisions on all the cases before them at this point. Is there any reason why they don't just drop them all at once? Is there a basis for dragging things out like this?

Science fiction is all about a Great Forgetting age where records are lost etc and sometimes it's natural disaster and sometimes it's revolutionary action but in our world it's apparently for tax write-offs

Let me tell you a real boring story! Last year, a queer artist in my community put up a cool Pride installation. Then some bigots used it to hang bigot flags and threatened to sue the city if they took down the bigot signs without also taking down the (admittedly unauthorized) art piece…
