I'm not wasting my energy fighting with people who I know won't adopt the kind of ruthless pragmatism I've outlined below. And this includes folks on the left. I have much better uses for my time and energy than to waste it fighting futile battles with people who're not committed to survival.

I'm voting for the agent of empire who has the best chance of winning and is the least bad among their fellow agents of empire. I'm doing so because the left hasn't gotten its shit together (or was prevented from getting its shit together) to do much more than complain about the least bad option.

There is a specific type of demoralizing fascism where people lose rights they had, in their lifetime, fought to get recognized. Not *just* losing rights, but seeing decades of hard effort dissolve. Reconstruction, Magnus Hirschfeld's Institute, Dobbs, the coming overturning of Obergefell, etc

Late last night MI House concurred in the substitute along party lines. Just goes to Gov to sign, but finally MI has banned the panic defense.

It passed, notably 4 Republicans voted for it Huizenga, Lauwers, Lindsey, and McBroom. The bill will go back to the House because of a Senate substitute, so it will have to be concurred in. That might happen today or next week.
