I've started instablocking anyone I see on here posting any variation on "well, enjoy the camps once Trump wins," including people I've never interacted with who are doing it in other people's mentions.

“He took away abortion and he wants to be a dictator” should be plastered on every surface and blaring out of every speaker.
Nothing is stopping every single Democratic elected official and apparatchik from taking the airwaves every single day to articulately and decisively repeat a set of cogent talking points about Trump (ie 45). Nothing. Dem PACs could be slamming him with ads now. Stop whining and do that.

So much of whether I'm in a good mood or a bad mood is bound up in how many jobs and tasks and chores I've gotten done in the previous 12 hours, and I'm beginning to realize this bodes horribly for my plan to eventually retire in the woods and do mostly nothing.

Taylor vocally came out against Marsha Blackburn during that evil lady’s last senate race and Blackburn still won. I think we need to give up the (understandable) fantasy that pop stars can swoop in and save the day. This is very much just my opinion, I know. But I’m right.
Wouldn't it be great if Taylor started openly explaining the details of project 2025 and why we need to vote

Is there a specific store/chain that sells nice fabric curtains? With Bed/Bath/Beyond gone, I'm not sure where people buy these. Do not say the internet, I promise I am aware of the internet. I want a store where I can see the fabric, thank you.

there's a certain irony that liberals who have spent four years yelling at leftists who criticize Biden at all for any reason have now, in one week, done more damage to Biden's candidacy than all those leftists combined
I think the freakout has been absurd and overblown and far more damaging than the debate itself, which would have been survivable if everyone had been willing to circle the wagons and push back on it I am, from a purely pragmatic standpoint, extremely concerned that the damage cannot be overcome

The Wisconsin Supreme Court’s new liberal majority has reinstated the expanded use of mail ballot drop boxes. It reversed the prior right-wing majority’s 2022 ban on such drop boxes, which were expanded due to the pandemic in 2020, when Joe Biden narrowly won Wisconsin
Wisconsin Supreme Court changes course, will allow expanded use of ballot drop boxes this fallapnews.com The Wisconsin Supreme Court is changing course and will allow officials to place ballot drop boxes around their communities in this fall's elections in the presidential swing state.

It's not Member Beans nor is it Member Toast. It's not any variation on Bangers and Mash under any circumstances whatsoever. It's Sir Beans & Toast OR Beans & Toast Prime.

We have negotiated this upwards to a quality local taco spot after my 83YO aunt did an advance visit to her local Chipotle and was like "uhhhhhhh no, we're not doing that."
My mom is turning 80 in a couple weeks and I'd been stressing over how best to make it special for her when she can barely walk and has lots of social anxiety etc etc. Anyway, turns out she just wants to go to Chipotle.

We kept hearing about how RFK Jr was poised to take advantage of historic dissatisfaction with the major party nominees and now he only pops up to say stuff like “people see a child driving and assume they know the whole story”

PSA America we're not part of the UK's little "commonwealth" and haven't been for almost 250 years, so under no circumstances do we need to follow UK directions about their fake little knighthoods and forms of address

I am glad this piece about the Heritage Foundation threatening civil war if the left doesn’t accept a monarchy came out in the WaPo. More like this, please.

Somehow not the wildest thing happening here. 😭
There is a 7 foot tall guy behind Rishi Sunak who likely ran for office just to be able to hold a printed out L behind him during his concession speech.

One of the BBC news anchors just referred to the Scottish vote results as a "Rubric's Cube," and I have no idea whether a) she pronounced Rubik's wrong; b) they call it a Rubric's Cube in the UK; or c) this was a clever bit of wordplay and a hilarious joke about Scottish politics.

Every time the topic of papers not fact-checking opinion pieces comes up, I'm reminded that a music critic here in MN once wrote an entire commentary putting my orchestra on blast for not building our European tour around a piece of new American music when we had literally done exactly that.
I didn't check the news today, but do I have this right that the world's most self-important newspaper ran an op-ed by a Hitler Youth-looking motherfucker explaining why voting is bad and he never does it, and it took 6 seconds for someone to look up that he in fact votes in every election?
