What if instead of extending tax cuts we raised taxes on top earners. What if we had a 90%+ tax rate on the overpaid assholes ruining our country. What about that Chuck.
“Should any political party attempt to abolish Social Security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things.” 1/2

"Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
Letter to Edgar Eisenhower, November 8, 1954
To our chagrin, while Eisenhower was perceptive and prescient, he was entirely wrong in his opinion of their ability to persuade idiots to their cause.
Wherein Grassley reveals that he (a) will sell out democracy; (b) wants to increase child poverty; (c) cares most about power because (d) he wants, above all else, to extend a tax cut for the wealthy, banks, and other corporations.
It's this shit. It's this rat fuckery wince Newt Gingrich days when they all decided to build a base of idiots that think making sure nothing happens is doing something good.
Let this whole thing burn.
Term limit these fucks out.
ALL of THEM.
That’s the Chuck I know and revile. In Iowa, he’s the farm grandpa who works hard and mows his own lawn. The rest of the time his motto is, “Fuck them kids.”
well there's a quote that makes me 1000% certain that if Pence had been harmed or had skipped out on the certification on Jan 6 we would not currently have a democracy.
One of my pet issues is no primaries before June. Summer primaries, general election kicks off after Labor Day. It’s make elections cheaper, less annoying, and might even make it so Congress can pass bills until like March before they get election-brained.
"If we pass this credit we're REALLY giving a handout to their parents...their dirty shftless lazy parents. They are failures let them pass that on to their brats."
"Checks might go out before the election, nevermind the COVID relief checks that got delayed in an election year because Donald Trump wanted his signature on the checks that didn't require them in the first place"
Chuck Grassley seemed like an OK politician when I was in high school but I am 53 now. Couldn’t we just ALL agree it would be better if he was on a porch somewhere with a rocking chair and a glass of lemonade?
Republicans openly stating that when the president is a democrat they refuse to pass legislation to help their fellow Americans because it will make the president "look good", and especially in "an election year"
Sure sounds like they don't really care about Americans at all, just their own power
Utterly disgusting. Whatever happened to politicians going to Washington to represent the people? To help people? To do things for the good of all?
Now it's just, what can get me re-elected? What can hurt the other side? The voters aren't even in the calculus.
