Oh, it turns out I figured out what to do with all of my anger! It’s a huge, free essay on whiteness and boundaries and why I spent all of yesterday bopping white liberal racism on the head. www.patreon.com/posts/108254...
I’m actually still very angry about this and I’m not sure how I’m going to deal with it, but absolutely none of my coping strategies will include bullying white marginalized people because I’m actually interested in progress

To folks interested in a future other than fascism: Please check out The Originalism Trap, which famed law professor Erwin Chemerinsky called “a magnificent book" that "provides a way forward to reclaim the Constitution and advance freedom and justice” tinyurl.com/originalismtrap
The Originalism Trap by Madiba K. Dennie: 9780593729250 | PenguinRandomHouse.com: Bookstinyurl.com A rallying cry for a more just approach to the law that bolsters social justice movements by throwing out originalism—the theory that judges should interpret the Constitution exactly as...

So I ask that maybe you use your brain and realize that I bring my whole self to my romance novels, and so do other authors, and so belittling the genre by saying that romance books are “just romance” and “even twilight is not just romance” is just wildly ignorant.

Saw someone’s take is “Bouie not being here won’t make or break” this site. I am happy to say some things about how platform migration works. It’s true, one user never makes or breaks anything, but for U.S. users the presence of young Black folks has driven the popularity of new tech for decades 1/?

2) Less importantly, but also important: Online harassment squads are a toxic and dangerous weapon and environments that encourage their routine deployment are not good places.

I loved this season and I k is others who did too. It wasn’t about the plot. It was about character development—grief and trauma aren’t linear.

Most folks won't notice this and the top-line is kinda similar, but perhaps worth calling out anyway: Vance's anti-abortionism is importantly /different/ to most evangelical anti-abortionism, tho the top-line is the same; it's secular white-nationalist rooted, not to a belief in pre-birth rights
From the JD Vance (Senate) campaign website. JD Vance would ban every single woman (or girl) from receiving an abortion, no matter the circumstances by which she was impregnated or the danger to her health. Maybe (just maybe) if she risks imminent death.

There is never any shame in using the library, and much benefit in doing so. They are the closest thing to an unmitigated social good that we have in these United States, which is why the hard right is gunning so fervently for them these days. A world without libraries and librarians is a poor one.
My book-buying budget is not what it once was, which is precisely why I’m using the library more. It also gives me the opportunity to read books that I’m not sure I want to add to the home library (not that there’s a lot of room to do that anyway).

I for one don't think it's such a great thing for an ex-POTUS to commit so many crimes that we'll eventually need to refer to SCOTUS and circuit decisions as "Trump I," Trump II…Trump XXIV," but that's just me

I had to read this three times to not see it as “someone else’s” and understand the issue.

Getting increasingly pissed off by various politicians "distraught" today. This is America, where every day we wonder if this when someone we love gets mowed down by a shooter. Pretending to be shocked just shows you don't get it. Trump has a Secret Service detail to protect him. My kids don't.
