Rafaela has been so good in clutch moments that I have started calling him Lil Papi in my head. Glad I decided to treat myself to a NESN subscription last month! 😁

Feel like there is something very pernicious about repurposing the song "This Is Me" in an ad for Wegovy.

Modifying these for myself: 1) I have not supported Biden in any of his presidential primaries in my lifetime ('08, '20, and '24) 2) I did not watch the debate, but fully believe the reports back from it 3) I believe it's too late to replace him now, and that NYT etc. are fucking him for readership
Three things that are true: 1) I did not support Biden in the 2020 primary 2) I thought Biden looked like a reanimated corpse at the debate 3) I have every confidence that he is fully capable of being President, and the New York Times and other outlets are fucking him to goose readership

einstein sent this to curie in 1911 when she was being harassed by tabloids. it contains everything you’d want in such a letter: (1) your haters are trash (2) you’re a baller, a true queen (3) i have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in planck’s radiation field 🧪⚛️

Jailing people for being homeless is a classic American policy: stupid, brutal, and very expensive.

To recap the past 24 hours: Jake Tapper: who should be president Trump: I should be president Biden: no, I should be president Roberts: actually I am the president

I don't want some egghead bureaucrat telling me whether there's poison in the water I drink. Ideally I'd want that decided by a 29yo judge who went to a "biblical law school" and does not believe dinosaurs existed, and then to have that decision reaffirmed six years later by the Supreme Court.

It’s so cool that cities are like “pweeease only turn your AC on if you’re actively dying and don’t go below 79 🥺🤘🏻💗” while the AI nobody asked for is slurping up the power grid to make 1 image of a girl with 5 tits

I already do this (MBTI always puts me at like 90% introvert), but it's kind of funny to see this coming on the heels of last week's WSJ "why are Millennials so phone-phobic??" article.
The first rule of avoiding scam calls is to never answer unknown numbers, and even some known ones. Curious? Bored? Worried it’s an emergency? Wait the extra minute it takes for the call to go to voice mail, then decide if it’s legitimate.
Sick of scams? Stop answering your phone.www.washingtonpost.com Phone scams are still hugely popular — and they depend entirely on people curious enough to answer.

Further question, why does every former Red Sox player that we face absolutely crush us in the first game of the series (Schwarber, Verdugo, tonight Turner)

I don't know why the Blue Jays play a snippet of Lisa Loeb's 90s hit "Stay" after every (opposing-team) strikeout, but I'm not all that mad about it.

Now on HB1386 from Env&Ag, it's relative to prohibiting the disposal of lithium-ion batteries in solid waste landfill facilities, composting facilities, or incinerators. J.R. Hoell speaking against, talking about how... he burned down a lithium-ion battery lab in Manchester once?

I would like to propose a business venture: Glasses that let people see like birds (tetrachromatic, able to see near UV wavelengths). The device translates near-UV spectra into color shifts in the visible spectra. Then they can stop lording their superior perception over us stupid mammals.

I can't believe I'm missing my boys' elementary school graduation for this 😑

To add to @tomtomorrow.bsky.social, the initial months of the pandemic influenced how people viewed the pandemic overall; much of the U.S. didn't experience the carnage NYC or DC did in the ~2 months, so they remember it differently (and inaccurately) mikethemadbiologist.com/2024/01/04/i...
@chrislhayes.bsky.social had a good bit tonight about "are you better off than you were four years ago" and so many people cannot rationally answer that question because we've collectively memory-holed the incredible trauma of what we all went through in 2020
Initially, We Didn’t All Experience the Same Pandemic–And That Mattersmikethemadbiologist.com One thing to remember amidst some of the COVID pandemic revision is the first wave, March to July 2020, really only hit the coasts hard* in the U.S. Much of the U.S. really didn’t get hammered unti…

what if, hear me out, we just gave nasa the money they needed I hear they have had good results in the past with that sort of approach
This is a bummer. A coronagraph blocks the light from a bright object like a star to see fainter stuff (like material it's forming from) around it. STIS was the last camera on Hubble that could do this, and I helped calibrate that coronagraph.
