I keep remembering that the official Republican solution to gun violence is just... more gun violence. "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" means the plan -- the only plan -- is that AFTER the shooting starts, there's more shooting. Prevention isn't even considered.

14 July 1931 | An Italian Jewish girl, Eleonora Pergola, was born in Rome. She arrived at Auschwitz on 23 October 1943 in a transport of 1,035 Jews deported from Rome. She was among 893 of them murdered in gas chambers after the selection.

Banning a book solely because it's about banning books is such a silly plot point in this dumb story, that any decent editor would slash it with a red pen, calling it "ham-handed', or "cartoonish", or "overly on-the-nose".

They banned the book not because it contains any obscene content, but because it espouses a negative view of book bans.

We are rehabilitating a small army of wild turkeys again this year. They come to us from all around the state, often found as lost singletons or little groups when the mother is known to be gone (usually from car strikes). These kids will soon get a second chance to be wild! 🪶
