What changes could they make that the Supreme Court wouldn’t or couldn’t just veto anyway? Short of impeaching and actually arresting them, couldn’t this court just hand wave away any actual challenge to their power?

I wouldn’t ask specific policy questions but it’s a great activity to get students to think about their own ideas, engage in discussion, and just get out of their seats for a few minutes. I do it on political philosophy questions, like “what’s more important: security or freedom?”

The biggest problem with this line of reasoning is that *Biden* isn’t the genocide enabler, *American foreign policy for the last 120 yrs* is the genocide enabler, and you aren’t going to vote (or not vote) that out. Biden isn’t worse on this issue than Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc. but Trump IS worse.

If you’re a single issue voter, and your issue is American foreign policy, there are only two choices: bad or worse. You can take the moral high ground and choose not to choose, but that will never improve anything on any issue. You want to change something, call/harass your Congresspeople.

Well I live in NY and we’ve had two governors resign recently so I disagree completely about the ‘respect the will of the voters’ nonsense. We shouldn’t be held hostage to term limits if an elected official is bad.

Okay, but Al Franken wasn’t removed from office, he resigned. Best case scenario, he reflected on his past actions, felt shame, and resigned so a less compromised Dem could take his place. Is the argument Democrats act with integrity? Or are you saying that sexpests shouldn’t resign?

I didn’t study philosophy, is there a term for a person who hurts their own arguments by being an abrasive and completely unsympathetic person? Like, maybe their points are valid but nobody wants to listen to them because they’re annoying?

Ad hominem is “this guy works at Foot Locker, his opinion is worthless” Ad hominem is not, “this guy is an asshole” Hope that helps.
