Two of my favorites on the list that I highly recommend are Bel Canto by Ann Patchett & The Warmth of Other Suns of Isabel Wilkerson. Patchett crafts wonderful stories that seep into you. The Warmth of Other Suns is the best non-fiction book I've ever read. It reads like a novel.

As I was looking at her posts, they just disappeared. The trolls drove someone else off the site.

Would love to see the Venn Diagram of "Thinks Russia bombing hospitals is bad" and "Thinks Israel bombing hospitals is bad." Exist in that overlap! Too few people seem to.

Mine would be another season of Counterpart. It was so so good, and we only got 2 seasons.

On my last visit, I took my sister to see our grandpa’s farm in Mayo. It’s vacant now, so I knocked on a neighbor’s door to make sure we were in the right spot. The neighbor confirmed we were and in the next breath invited us in for tea. Amazing.

That’s good to hear, because sometimes I wonder how you put up with the lot of us when we visit. Truly the warmest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met.

One of my earliest lessons from Irish Twitter was how awful so many Irish-Americans are. I now describe myself as a person with Irish ancestry just to create a little distance. That, and referring to my two Famine immigrant ancestors as refugees to get a rise out of my cousins.

The Biden situation is not doing anything helpful for my anxiety, so I decided to switch things up with some light reading about the Famine. My daughter’s response- well the Famine’s over, so yeah that works.
