Better late than never. 😂 33
The official start of the holiday is July 5th, but mostly I’m mad that your JoAnns is clearly better stocked than mine :D 1 11
I'm a big Halloween fancier but I also believe it exists for exactly 31 days. 11
It might be a bit early but I'm thinking these two guys would make great summer lawn decorations. 1 11
They start gay christmas earlier and earlier every year 7
We know what overzealous mf did THIS 7
Just be like the gift shop in town and have Halloween merch all year round. 👻 1 5
Good, ol' Fremont, Nebraska? 1
oh, no lol there is a very similar store that sells some of the exact same items in Oregon City, Oregon. 1 1
lol Would've been a helluva coincidence. 1
For the sewing/crafting materials, having them out months before makes sense (it takes TIME to make sh*t). But for ready-made, it’s a bit much. 5
I was at Joann’s today and YUP. Spooky fabric is everywhere along with Back to School.
At least all the beach-y themed stuff I love was 60% off… 😆
Retail Seasonal offsets are getting a bit nuts.. 3 4
Joann's is always a season ahead though because you need the lead time to make something.
I need to get to Joann’s soon. Spooky quilt cottons are my favorites. 1
Only Halloween stuff I usually keep an eye out for is neat Peanuts stuff. 1 1
I got my beloved fortune card fabric there. I’m looking for something with a subtle spiderweb pattern this year, for Folkwear pants. 1
I have a whole dress of Peanuts pumpkin patch fabric which I love. There was a zombie pinup girl cotton a few years ago I made a shirt with too. 1 1
I have some grey & black shaded batik from last year that’s going to be Folkwear African pants, as soon as I finish the 2nd hapi jacket.
Half of me loves all of that stuff. But the other half of me agrees: It's WAY too heckin' early for Spooky Season stuff. At least wait til towards the end of August, holy hell. lol
I know people are complaining about this, but I'm just glad I have more time to collect my room decor before it's gone for the rest of the year 1 3
this is my logic EXACTLY
it's the only time I shop retail for home decor, and then it stays up year round.
(I also buy a lot from indie makers, locally and online, but retail is good for cute cheap filler pieces) 2
Hm. Gets later and later every year. 2
I pass by a place that has a 12 foot yard skeleton that's been up at least 3 years. 1 2
We have one of those but it lives in our living room. 2 6
I always think it needs a top hat and cane.
17’ baybeeeeeeee #sizequeen 1
Look, I'm *always* spooky and even I draw the line at this. 2
I simply can’t believe that plaque doesn’t say APOTHE-SCARY 2
Finally!!! Never too early for Halloween 🎃!!! 2
It is on clearance.
That said?
I would 100% shop in a year-round Halloween section of a store. 2
Happy Pride month! Time to get spooky. 1
But JOANN has zero fucks to give. 1
Joann's knows its gay clientele have our needs. 1
If Christmas shit gets pushed starting in September, Halloween can start in June. Cope or put Christmas back in fucking December. 1 1
Sorry if that came off as aggressively at you. Meant it as a general gripe at my most hated holiday taking over practically half the damn year and people acting like that’s normal. 2
I know, time to prepare for Halloween, that's the Goth Christmas. 😁 1
Time to pick up some more decorations! 1
I see your bet and will raise you snowsuits. 1
I know, I know: I want the new Christmas stuff, too. But in the meantime the Halloween stuff is pretty cool. 1
