The Founders anticipated all of this, and that is why they buried throughout the constitution various secret hints and rules that would, centuries later, make it illegal to notice or get mad when a powerful and extremely dumb guy repeatedly commits obvious oafish political crimes.

Trying not to be a doomer but man this feels like a full on coronation of Trump. Dismantling his opposition during the primaries, his appointed judges stalling or dismissing nearly every legal case against him, SCOTUS granting him king-like powers…

this is by far the craziest longshot candidate replacement idea I’ve heard, but if the technology’s there I’ll hear them out

Neighbors across the street seem incapable of pulling in/out of their driveway without crashing into/knocking over their mailbox. I have to share roadways with these people.

The thing with these guys is they view communications media (speech, fiction, film, TV series, drama, you name it) as data transmission and nothing more. The Great Gatsby is a list of events and characters and if you can cut that down to 500 words, you're maximizing something.

I don't want some egghead bureaucrat telling me whether there's poison in the water I drink. Ideally I'd want that decided by a 29yo judge who went to a "biblical law school" and does not believe dinosaurs existed, and then to have that decision reaffirmed six years later by the Supreme Court.
