That’s a lesson AOC learned. 6 years ago she was actively targeting safe Dems, including now leader Jeffries. Works for building a personal brand, not so much for actual legislative accomplishments. Committee work, constituent services, promoting her party… she now better understands power.

Young voters lack power because they don’t show up. Look at the premise… why Dems aren’t inspiring youth. But the planet is on fire. Biden passed massive climate legislation, Trump will roll it all back. If youth aren’t motivated already…🤷‍♂️

One note about this, the party has been empowering AOC, and she is kind of on her own trajectory adjustment. Back in 2018, she actively worked at primarying safe incumbent Dem seats. She targeted Jeffries. That sort of activism is at odds with being a party leader. AOC. Is smart, and adjusted.

She tried to drive Jeffries from his seat. Now she is a strong Biden ally and Jeffries has her as the Vice Ranking Member on Oversight. She is in line for party leadership. I’m thrilled she has opted to take her natural gifts this way. She is a very talented pol.

I’m not saying young people are stupid. They just don’t historically vote. We did for awhile right after the 26th amendment - the right was new and we were facing conscription and death in a foreign war. It might be lack of life experience, culture, still developing ACC in the brain…🤷‍♂️
