If I was a doomer I'd take my mask off and just go get sick. The fact that I'm not giving up on myself and my loved ones is actually the opposite of a doomer.
I’m just really over people calling COVID conscious/cautious people doomers.

"The pandemic is over" You know, it's really weird then that people are still getting COVID infections on a regular basis and are still dying from COVID infections and disabled people still can't go outside safely and that the World Health Organization says we're still in a pandemic and- (1/208)

Can we please stop participating in and falling for these Oppression Olympics? It’s not a competition. The only way to save ourselves is to save each other. The way that the worst of humanity stays in power is by keeping us at each other’s throats instead of theirs. 💜

I know people overuse the phrase “we live in the dumbest possible timeline” but a presidential assassination attempt missing its intended target and instead ending a 30 year musical comedy duo is just…yeah…

Best thing you can do isn't talking about project 2025. It's calling for Biden to resign.

just keep saying “toxic users” and keep laundering the truth which is that you’re pissed as hell that some trans women talked back to someone who you deem to be more worthy than they

(snapping suspenders) now i may be just a simple country pundit, but it seems to me that if the New York Times sometimes says trans people are good, that means the paper's well-documented role in laundering consent for trans eliminationism isn't real.

honestly i see a lot more value in trying to get people to see the nyt as radioactive - bouie writing for them or not really doesn't *do* much in and of itself, but seeing big names turn on the nyt and take away their mainstream credibility would rule

The extremes of “everything is fine” and “everything is awful” both prompt inaction. Neither is useful. We NEED to exist in the space between, and this really shouldn’t be controversial.
I do in fact believe there’s a middle ground between “everything is great and nothing bad will ever happen” and “we’re utterly doomed and should start digging our own mass graves now.”

Political violence is the fundament of any state - cops enforce laws made by politicians and armies pursue objectives set by states in response to geopolitical ambitions. It's just that we consider a lot of that 'legitimate' and therefore 'not political' when it very much is!
We've been living in an age of political violence. It's just now that violence is also directed towards a group of people who were supposed to be "safe" from it. I'm saying the quiet part loud because some folks keep trying to act brand new about this shit.

If people being (justly) terrified of what is happening and what could happen is causing YOU to feel hopeless and lost, then that's a YOU problem. Don't blame them for how uncomfortable you are with your own fear. Get right with yourself and get ready to be brave in the face of YOUR fear.

And this is how fascism wins. It convinces moderates to stop using the correct language to name what our enemy is and make no mistake. Trump and the Republicans are a fascist anti-democratic enemy to every real American who believes in the Constitution and rule of law. Do not stay silent.

Jim Inhofe: "I thought it must be true until I found out what it would cost"
He led so many witch hunts against climate scientists, endorsed every denial argument under the sun, and did incalculable damage that he inexcusably justified by invoking the name of God; yet in one conversation with Rachel Maddow in 2012 he was entirely honest and clear:

Hey, remember when Trump tried to get Comey to "let this go" with the investigation of Michael Flynn? And then Robert Mueller was like "Hey, congress, here's some very clear obstruction. I am sure you'll do the right thing." Turns out, it was all very cool and very legal.

The condescending manner in which the campaign is dismissing these calls isn't helping since they're choice to ignore what was always obvious to voters is what brought us here
In 2020, pressure on Biden translated into Kamala Harris becoming VP and Kentanji Brown Jackson becoming a Supreme Court Justice. In 2024, the pressure on Biden will likely translate into nothing. No change, no compromise, no concessions. We just get more aging white mediocrity. So that’s great.
