While I do very much agree that Father’s need to be involved & loving with their offspring, I hold these very adult men completely responsible for their own actions. They each have every resource available to “improve” themselves, & to do real, measurable good in the world. It’s a choice they made

I just really don’t need a long garment tag, completely sewn into the seams (hellooo what happened to the tear off tags?) with washing instructions in ten different languages. These are even on tiny panties. Like flying your laundry care instructions flags 🤦‍♀️

I prefer to hear the ocean/nature/etc. I wish there were some unwritten rules on this, maybe something related to people density (more = more expectation of noise) but maybe not needing the battle of the loudest speakers too on top of the crowd density.

And while you do the mutual aid, make comrades. Build relationships and connection. That's where our power lies: in our relationships. Whatever comes, a more connected community is a more resilient and safer community.

The way forward is mutual aid. Feel lost, lonely, scared? There is a free fridge project or pantry near you. Make some sandwiches. I am absolutely not kidding about this. “Not Knowing What Else To Do, Woman Bakes American-Flag Cake” is not terrible advice if you give it away.

When mask wearing was at its highest point (yes, shortly before it became a viral free-for-all) people were making a lot more eye contact & it’s amazing how much you can read just from the eyes (or the smiling eye crinkles).

Hot take: I'm truly not interested in hand wringing over how much people will miss enjoying the books of men who have turned out to be abusers. I'm far more concerned about the missing art that women haven't been able to create/publish because they crossed paths with such men.

NYC (long time ago) used DDT for rats. Worked for a while cause pop. was decreasing. Then it started to increase again. Turns out, they’d mutated enough to start eating DDT as a food source. Considering the speed of reproduction, I do not doubt either species could extract energy from “non-foods”.

Also worth remembering: Disabled people protesting saved the ACA. Seems a little ironic now.

Worth remembering that Trump tried to overturn the ACA without a replacement, which could have brought back lifetime caps and revoked coverage for pre-existing conditions. In other words, if he'd had his way, many more Americans could have gone bankrupt and died.

They’re really pricey to have them installed. Less so if you can do it yourself. I’m not that confident in my very amateur electrical skills. They recommend 2 if you’re running anything on 240v

I’ve heard they can be used in this way but not for anything running on 240v like a window unit AC, or the pump that runs the well (water). I can suffer some high temps. It’s uninhabitable without clean water.

I live in Fl. There are a lot of portable generators for hurricane season. You can’t use them in the rain. You can’t use them in a garage (carbon monoxide) and gas is a limited commodity if roads are closed/damaged/flooded. Goes without saying, you can’t use them in standing water.
