I think because it might be fallout from 2000, loads of Christians going "it's Armageddon!" & Gabriel will use a trumpet to call home the faithful according to some lore.

Alastor of Hazbin Hotel is probably Gabriel - because as angel of messengers ....he's patron of radio broadcasting. White stags /hind are also messengers & tied up with Saints too, so maybes 🧐

Adding that I realized this after replying to a thread on the show Supernatural on Loki/Gabriel. Interesting things in movies with 'Gabriel' were going on -Van Helsing (2004), where Van Helsing is alluded to be Gabriel, portrayed by Hugh Jackman; Constantine film in 2005).

Supernatural season 2 happened in 2006 & is where the Trickster first appeared, but not revealed as Gabriel until 2009.

Got a email I could see titled from NetGalley as "Your Next Queer Horror Obsession...", I read Queer as Queen ... and it was like what? Like a writer who's the Queen of Horror? Or a Scream Queen who's written a horror novel/tell all about being on movie sets? Now I kind of want that 😂

The Bridal Party is a romantasy, taking the historical premise of a bridal party (to ward off exes, rivals, and evil spirits) to its logical next step: what if bridesmaids and groomsmen were mercenary fighters? What if they were a bunch of queer weirdos hired by an attractive lord with A SECRET?

OMG OMG OMG Jason has been reworking the cover for The Bridal Party. The old one kept getting mistaken for a historical novel and people kept getting weirded out by the queer werewolves and demons and fairies and Bjorn. I just saw it and I am so. excited. Maybe he’ll let me share?

Korean book Twitter taught me this. We publish A LOT—highly literate nation, invented moveable metal type centuries before Europe—but the print runs are usually minimal. So if you see anything remotely interesting, just buy it. It won’t always be in print. Read it later, but buy it NOW.
