yes, we boiled the planet, but it was worth it to make a machine that, instead of adding two plus two, takes the statistical average of every answer to questions containing "what" "is" "two" and "plus" from a database of illegal cell phone transcripts and returns a fake nude pic of a high schooler

Sitting at my desk working and hear a big splash in the pool and I know who it is! I hope he wasn't too freaked out by all of the fireworks last night, poor big buddy.

While many ducks have a coloured wing patch, the Northern Shoveler said “give me two!” Add the green head, the spoon-like bill and the orange feet, and they are a package! This male northern shoveler decided to fly to the other side of the marsh to check out the foraging options!🪶

This fallen tree trunk must be filled with bugs, I keep seeing woodpeckers on it. I have to remember to sneak up on it cautiously so they don't fly off (Pileated Woodpecker) #birds #WoodpeckerWednesday 🌿

I came to my 14 year old with a concern about social media. He literally took his glasses off, rubbed his temples, and asked: “what have the moms on the internet said now?” 😯🫤😆

just watched 74 people speaking at least a dozen different languages become american citizens in a ceremony at monticello, where the speakers were themselves children of immigrants. inspiring stuff and a vivid illustration of what reactionaries want to snuff out

OK, here is one of my favorite bird sightings ever. It's called an Oilbird or Guácharo. These birds live in caves and grottos in South America and are the only nighttime flying fruit-eating birds in the world. They can navigate like bats, using echolocation!

Soras spend a fair bit of time foraging in the weedy shallow areas of marshes. This Sora had been searching the shoreline when it saw something in the shallow water that looked interesting!🪶

I still think solarpunk gives the best vision of futuristic cities.
We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.
