Nicolle Wallace? Surprisingly, she has been better at covering Trump/GOP nonsense than most of the reporters on there, imo. Had to turn her off today, though, because I will not watch any of that age nonsense.

The NYT Parkinson's "scoop" is even worse than it seems from the headline, bc buried in paragraph 11 the reporters *know* Dr. Connard met with someone other than Biden, and on March 28, 2024 the President's Public Schedule shows Biden was in NYC the whole day
Breaking News: A Parkinson’s expert visited the White House eight times in eight months from last summer through this spring, according to official visitor logs. The administration has said that President Biden has no signs of the disease.

What’s the over/under on how long it takes for these ratfucking assholes to add a “correction” to the bottom of the article acknowledging the bill for Parkinson’s research as the much more likely explanation, but without changing the headline or lede?

We really should be able to turn off entire categories of ads, or at least mute ads we don't want to see again.

France out here proving that actually you can tell the far right to go to hell even when it looks like they’re on track for a big victory are we going to let ourselves be shown up by the French?
French exit poll news and which seems a good sign

Honestly, I think it depends on the age and type of bumper sticker. As far as sanity goes, having 5 fun & non-political bumper stickers, of various ages, is not the same as having one brand new, (not so) vaguely threatening, pro-gun bumper sticker.

Trump’s new Big Lie that he doesn’t know about Project 2025 might take him downwww.inquirer.com Republicans are in a state of panic now that voters are paying attention to Project 2025, their plan for dictatorship. They should be.

I'm on the edge of town, and the nearest major street is still 4 lanes wide with a median, but has very little traffic; I think people go there to shoot fireworks. Which is good for fire safety, at least.

a dead giveaway that project 2025 was written specifically for—and with input from—trump:

I really dislike firework season. Finding time to take the dogs outside after it has started to cool down, but before the sky booms start, is difficult. (I just got the dogs inside and I'm already hearing fireworks. It isn't even dark, yet!)

That makes sense. I'm from NM, and I don't think it is particularly common here.

When I was a kid, Price Club (now Costco) sold laundry detergent in buckets, so we used those buckets. Trash bins and buckets are also easier to aim at, imo, than even the biggest mixing bowl.

Is it really more pervasive there than the rest of the united states?

Wow. @nytimes.com has closed their Threads account and left the platform after days of getting just shredded in the replies for their handling of Biden post debate. Now they're getting dog piled on Instagram for running from Threads.

Well France apparently just collabed between everyone else to kick a far right party out of the chance to take power, it can be done if enough people want it to be, folks

bad luck for biden to run in an electoral cycle where "are you old" is the most important issue instead of in one of the cycles where email security procedures or accuracy of vietnam war medal citations was the most important issue in the country.

Remember: Texas is not a red state. Texas is a massively voter-suppressed state, with a lot of people working very hard and very thanklessly to fix that.

I will bang this drum forever: in THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE FREE: THE GERMANS, 1933-45 Milton Mayer interviewed 10 ordinary Germans after WW2 to learn how fascism took hold. There was never a moment when everyone woke up:
if you’re waiting for everyone around you to wake up, you’ll wait forever. this is how the people grinding our bones to make their bread WANT you to be. paralyzed, alienated & purposeless

I'm honestly not sure that would work, even in that situation; some people experience hallucinations inside isolation pods that were trendy in the '90s.

I have some (relatively minor) sensory issues, but rooms like that would drive me nuts; there is no where to rest the eyes. I actually like strong-colored walls because they make the rest of the visual noise quiter by comparison.

Also, cabinets with solid doors are a great way to reduce visual noise and overstimulation, and I rarely see them in photos of these nurseries.

Organizers got enough signatures to put a measure protecting abortion on the ballot in Arkansas. In *Arkansas*. They had *no national support*. Ignore the pundits melting down over not being treated as Very Special Boys. Dobbs has fundamentally changed elections. Everything they know is wrong.
