The key to understanding this is that, fundamentally, Ashish Jha is a Biden guy. Before anything else, he's a Joe Biden loyalist Biden, for political reasons, needs there to not be a pandemic anymore - because he ended it. Masks are an incredibly obvious, public symbol that there's still a pandemic

Not to amplify another dumb comment by Jha beyond wondering if a "mask" frightened him as a child--but reminder that respirators work against a range of infectious particles (and always have) & that Cvd is still a new virus with likely longterm harm-so its not fringe to wear a respirator indoors
