The fact they played a video of a guy making monkey sounds at Black people at the fucking convention to hype up the crowd not being front page news across the nation is proof not one of those publications deserves to exist

I spent a good chunk of today at an early voting site, campaigning for a state house candidate. Voters aren't talking about Biden/his age; they want to know who's running for common sense gun reform, restoring abortion rights, & protecting our public schools. Those arguing re Biden are out of touch.

IDK who the first person to express this sentiment was, but: "When people talk about traveling to the past, they worry about radically changing the present by doing something small, but barely anyone in the present really thinks that they can radically change the future by doing something small."
What are people doing w/neighbors & friends to create & nurture networks of collective care & mutual aid? What small but significant (or super size me and spectacular, and everything in between) actions & practices are people talking about, preparing for, or taking?

Republican president was shot by a Republican because of an environment of normalized violence that Republicans insist we all live in, and somehow this means that both sides need to tone it all the way down, which in practice means that Democrats and only Democratic need to stop talking entirely.
Avatar
Just a thought: How about we stop treating Trump like a former President and instead treat him as the enormous threat to our national security and democracy that he truly is? — And most importantly, under no damn circumstances should we “soften our tone” toward this traitor!

Project 2025 calls for defunding the FBI. (Note that Heritage called the FBI to start an investigation of the hacking incident the other day. Yes they called the agency they plan to shutter if Trump wins 🤷🏼‍♂️)
from now until Election Day, we connect every story back to Project 2025 Eg: The FBI is currently investigating the Trump shooter. But did you know that Project 2025 will place the FBI under Trump’s direct control, so he can decide which acts of political violence get investigated, and which don’t?

Senate Dems should take one of their assorted gun control bills off the shelf, rename it something like "Trump Assassination Prevention Act," and force Rs to do a talking filibuster to block it

Well I'm given to understand that today & for a VERY limited time, our nation's political violence party is shocked—shocked!—to learn that we currently live in a world of normalized political violence, and would like very much to know who is to blame. Full Essay: www.the-reframe.com/gambling-in-...

Please don’t “both sides” the “violent political rhetoric” conversation when one side regularly glorifies and intimidates with guns and the other side speaks out to end gun violence. These are not the same.

If this were a normal election, President Biden would be extolling excellent economic news: inflation looks like it has not only been tamed, but turned around. Median wage growth (which excises returns for the top 1%) is outpacing inflation significantly. Unemployment is near record lows.

I live every day stunned that the guy who killed more Americans than anyone in history besides Jefferson Davis AND attempted a violent coup on national television AND suborned US foreign policy to his own electoral interests badly enough to get impeached for it AND
I get why this is the case, but it’s so wild that one million Americans died of COVID because of Trump’s handling of the pandemic, and it’s not even remotely an issue in this election. What a country!
