Yesterday, I attended a party with about 15 millennials & 20 boomers. Politics came up. Not one person had heard of Project 2025. I gave them a crash course on it. By the time it was over, I was able to convince everyone that this election is a choice between democracy and a dictatorship.

Breaking open this set with the complete, chamber version of Appalachian Spring. As a young man I found this work treacly and corny. I was such a fool! Thankfully, I grew up to see it as the beautiful jewel it is.

I have time before I need to start my next commission, so I've picked up the opera I've been working on for ten years. After orchestrating a couple of scenes, I'm staring at a blank page with no idea how to start anew. I have some tunes, but how does this scene start? Gah!

I'm 51 years old and only now did I discover Verdi's Falstaff. There oughtta be a law! What an utter piece of perfection.
