The current count of COVID-19 cases I know of coming out of Readercon has now hit six. I tested negative this morning, and hope my testing will continue to show me as negative tomorrow. If you were there in Quincy, too, I hope you're doing OK.

In my opinion these “mask laws” are meant as an institutional way to push ableism, racism, islamophobia and more. People will likely be targeted because of race, and many disabled people will be forced to hide away from society. It’ll be a loss of religious freedom (hijabs).

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirms that a Columbus, Ohio, police officer detailed to the RNC shot and killed a homeless Black man (earlier reported to be in his early 20s) more than half a mile from the RNC arena. The man was known by the nickname Jehovah and took care of a pit bull named Isis.
