It's not going to matter either way but will be high comedy when trump denounces the "global elites" with a Yale/Goldman Sachs alum awkwardly standing behind him.

New York Times Editorial Board: "Mr. Trump’s political agenda cannot and must not be opposed by violence. It cannot and must not be pursued through violence." Ok but to be clear Trump's political agenda *is* violence. We get that right? I dont want us to miss that www.nytimes.com/2024/07/13/o...

The fact Bezos made every meeting start off by submitting a 2-6 page white paper is held up as a sign of his business genius. It makes all the sense in the world to verify people have their ducks in a row and can answer the next level questions before talking POTUS

Re watched Network last night and o boy that's still a depressingly relevant film

I understand that our parties are not like parliamentary ones but how the hell don't Jeffries and Schumer call a conference vote and settle this one way or another. The constant drip of mostly back benchers defecting is keeping the news cycle going

Weird thing to say about a person who appointed Rachel Levine. Obviously representation isn't a substitute for policy, but shows some commitment!

And they have no ground game! It's all being embezzled/paying Trump's bills! I'm wondering if we get a Narrative Shift after the RNC convention. Even before Trump blew up the RNC, both of the GOP conventions were weird and disorganized. Why does anyone think this year's is going to go well?

The fact there wasn't a competitive primary on either side and thus non-politicos are still completely tuned out hasn't fully registered for us political junkies.

Would love to have "a Christmas Carol" style overview of a world where Obama held dubya's administration accountable for the blatant corruption and incompetence instead of looking forward to letting the same ghouls take over congress next election

It's really great Jerry Nadler and Adam Smith decided it would be better to call for Biden to step down then do any sort of oversight or look into the trumps and kushners taxes

Maybe you still need to drive a ways after that. You can secure the pick up and then make the transition at a gas station down the road

Sounds like you have almost a hundred problems but a woman isnt one

Or lacking a theory of the mind. "GOP says they want to help mom and pop stores but somehow keep giving taxcuts to Walmart. I don't know why they keep doing this"

The main thing the president does is build his team to actually do the policy execution. Why personnel = policy and Biden's team is pretty good! (still think he needs to fire his comms dept tho)

No More Souters became a rallying cry, not a vow to stop supporting the GOP

All these supposed political insiders feels like getting a meteorology report from someone looking out their window.

the Gaiman allegations are incredibly disappointing and I am so tired of famous men using their power and status to exploit young women like this

Would also like Dems to make clear the "back the blue" flag is disparaging to old glory and should not be tolerated

a thing to remember, in all of this horror, is that these are not the actions of a political party that is confident it represents the will of the people, and who is currently out of power and enslaved to a deeply flawed avatar. the struggle is not over and they have not won

"Expand the court" has gone from radical solution to the most exceptionally moderate option on the table.

Absolutely. He also seems to hold some core convictions contrary to the dem platform which is why he left the party. I think Jamelle's point later that he's a vain man does mean he'd suck it up and stick to the talking points.

You think Manchin would be able to stay on message or do you think he'd constantly be affirming Harris is secretly antifa despite being a prosecutor or whatever nonsense of the day is?
