Biden is too old. But he has surrounded himself with competent people and has had a conventional first term. Trump is authoritarian but inept. He has surrounded himself with people he hopes will make him more effective at authoritarianism. Neither is ideal. But these are not similar problems.

This is the thing that always loses me. I am on the left because I believe in helping people that have been left behind by the structure of society, and I do not understand those who look at that inequity and prefer the gaping black maw of uncertainty of violent revolution.

I spend a decent chunk of my time online (probably too much), so it’s always kinda surprising whenever I run into a fully fleshed-out drama with multiple characters and I have no idea who these people are or what happened.

it's not good that trump gets preferential treatment but he gets it because the judge wants to keep the record as clean as possible because he will get jeweler's loup scrutiny by every possible level of appellate court.

i'm going to be the one weenie who thinks this was about right. the "10th" infraction is more like the second because the first 9 were all covered in one hearing and the 10th happened before the ruling from that hearing. he's getting preferential treatment but, come on, of course he is.

One final point: Modern propaganda is meant in part to make you give up. Demoralize you until you submit. It doesn’t do it through coercion or threats it does it by weaponizing unreality using conspiracy and infooverload until you cannot tell what is real what truth is so you stop caring.
