From the JD Vance (Senate) campaign website. JD Vance would ban every single woman (or girl) from receiving an abortion, no matter the circumstances by which she was impregnated or the danger to her health. Maybe (just maybe) if she risks imminent death.

The hillbilly is from Greater Dayton
For one, he has spent his entire career misleading people into thinking he grew up in Appalachia and conflating Middletown, where he grew up, by saying it's in "southern Ohio" and that he spent a lot of time with his family in "nearby" Jackson, Kentucky. Jackson is four hours away from Middletown

He also said that immunity granted by SCOTUS should apply to Trump, but not Biden.

Trump’s VP pick … — demanded the DOJ open a criminal investigation of a journalist for “insurrection” over an op-ed critical of Trump — spouted replacement theory garbage — called for criminal prosecutions of other Trump critics — blamed Biden for Trump shooting — called for Biden’s prosecution

The fact that you cannot imagine Vance hesitating for a second to throw an election to Trump gives a sense of how far we have descended
Among the many reasons a second Trump term poses a serious threat to American democracy: Vance is not a Pence-type VP www.vox.com/politics/360...

Since Bernie Moreno is the presumptive Republican nominee for Ohio's Senate in JD Vance's place, thought I'd share an image I have of him pictured with the Proud Boys, too. He also did not respond for a request for comment.
Since J.D. Vance is announced as Trump's VP pick, now's a good time for me to reveal that Vance has been pictured with the Proud Boys, with members bragging about having met them.

FWIW I just read McKay Coppins’ Romney book, and Romney is BRUTAL on JD Vance.

A fun fact about JD Vance is that he's openly backed purging anyone who disagrees with him from the government, comparing it to "de-Nazification," and illegally defying court orders to do so.

Just start referring to Vance as the Project 2025 Running Mate, because that’s what he is
Vance was Heritage's pick so don't forget about Project 2025, which proceeds apace

Republicans are now waging war on… *checks notes* women, because there was a… *checks notes, frantically fumbles through notes* female member of Trump’s secret service detail. This should go well for them.

Forty years ago this week, Greg Abbott had his spine crushed by a falling tree while on a jog in Houston. Abbott sued the tree owner, winning millions. Decades later, as governor, Abbott made sure Texans would never be able to do the same, thanks to tort reform. www.chron.com/politics/art...

Yet again why we HAVE to focus on social justice in regards to climate change. The people who suffer the most will be the people least responsible. There is no climate fight without climate justice.
If you ever wonder why people in certain neighborhoods in your city are always congregating outside on the sidewalks during the summer maybe you should consider how privileged you are to ask that question. (I am not talking about me. I am very lucky to have air conditioning in other rooms.)

I keep remembering that the official Republican solution to gun violence is just... more gun violence. "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" means the plan -- the only plan -- is that AFTER the shooting starts, there's more shooting. Prevention isn't even considered.

Simply the fact that he was only 20 years old is enough to know the shooter should never have had access to a gun, let alone a military assault rifle. Just his age alone. Our gun laws are tragically — endless tragedy after tragedy — lax.

A few hours after posting on Facebook that “the left” was responsible for the assassination attempt (without any evidence for the claim), the OR GOP then issued a statement calling “on the media to stop feeding the contentious us-against-them culture amongst Americans.”

Please don’t “both sides” the “violent political rhetoric” conversation when one side regularly glorifies and intimidates with guns and the other side speaks out to end gun violence. These are not the same.
