are you better off now than four years ago when you blacked out inside every time the president blurbled ‘testing makes the numbers go up’ as you disinfected your groceries and tried to remember the last thing they said on the zoom call before your kids started fighting for the 17th time today
2020 was mostly good vibes, every day I got to do a little dance going in to work so that the thermal scanner camera could tell if I had a fever. Can't have a bad day if you did a jig on your way into work.
Plus, the KU Jayhawks were the 2020 champs.
If you disagree with that, tell it to every D1 football team, who prior to 1998, took to calling themselves a "champion" for being #1 on the final poll.
I now realize that I went through an entire character arc from "never used twitter" to "entirely quit twitter and just started using bluesky" in that time and four seasons landscaping was a big part of getting me started on twitter
I mean, I don't know about the best year, but 2020 was alright. Nothing changed in my day to day except way less traffic driving to work, and the stores were less full of idiots blocking aisles and crap.
Just, less idiots everywhere when out.
Maybe it was the best year... 🤔
By and large, yes. But there were some nice parts. Air quality went WAY up for a little while, which decreased Summer temps for us (a return to almost pre-industrial levels). And being HOME all the time meant I finally got to spend time with my wife. LOTS of time. And it was glorious.
I am still not over Trump seriously saying "I told them to slow down with the testings, it makes it look bad", and the media didn't make a big deal out of it.
