Beginning to wonder if Serious Moderate journalists are the ones who actually want the far right in power but they’re afraid to admit it so they project the enthusiasm for the far right onto a populist juggernaut that doesn’t actually exist! Many such cases!
The perception of an inevitable fascist victory in Europe is largely just the wishcasting of mainstream media publications saying that fascist victory is inevitable. See how the BBC spins National Rally's loss.

A band that everyone agrees sucked shit play one gig in Manchester - everyone who attends goes on to form their own band, shaping UK music for decades. Their artist is the nephew of the founder of the druidic order. You're telling me that this is all "a coincidence"? and that "this is a Wendy's"?

JUST IN: Polls closed in France. Exit polls show surprise: —Left coalition (New Popular Front) projected first. (!) —Far-right (RN) has lost its bid to take power. Anti-RN front appears to have worked very well. —No bloc close to majority. Follow this 🧵 for results and more:

NYT doing slice-of-life puff pieces on fucking nazis sure is a 2024 vibe. Never let media tell you rural locales are reserved for racist CHUDs. Most of them don't even understand the fucking aesthetics of rural life and project this weird lederhosen fantasy onto it.
I know they get rolled all the time but for the Times to get rolled by “actually they just want to reclaim the values of Western civilization as they see it … with larger families and fewer immigrants” is the Times putting the 14 words in the paper

I think part of my ambivalence to MaXXXine was that I already saw Knife + Heart which covered much of the same ground only with a razor-sharp focus in theme and a stronger grasp of the target aesthetic. Of course Knife + Heart is also much gayer and much much more French so YMMV. LOL

This is the goal
Be a WEIRD DUDE (awesome, queer, layered, fun, cool as hell) Don't be a WEIRD DUDE (shitty, judgmental, mean, derogatory, a bigot)

Congratulations Doug Ford on the first strike in LCBO history. But we all know this is about union busting and giving your rich buddies more money by privatizing the LCBO. Weston needs a second castle baby!!! Also the amount of ding dongs who don’t understand the revenue LCBO brings in ugh 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Eternally binding? Lol what the fuck?
FWIW I am a strong supporter of electoral reform, and I think FPTP is terrible. But we literally had a referendum on it, and I believe those are eternally binding and we all have to suck up whatever unliked consequences they produce, *Nigel*.

All due disrespect to Keith Starfucker. I'd say he'd turned the Labour party into the "Stay" Tories of Cameron but he's not planning to reverse Brexit.

it just strikes me that the two things just aren't related-- engagement in a kink community, and the horrible allegations that no consent-minded, healthy kink community would ever tolerate. So I really have no idea what she was getting at 🤷

honestly hate that every time there's an industry bad actor, lists of "works by marginalized authors to support instead" start circulating like it's a moral obligation to be done out of guilt, & it's crickets every other day of the year. my art is not to be taken in as a reactionary measure

it's the way it gets treated like antiretrovirals for me. "oh you exposed yourself to that Bad Persons books now you must do penance and kill the unwoke mind virus by reading this not white person's book"

The New York Times and glossy profiles of Nazis- name a more enduring relationship
"Their rhetoric can sound expansive to the point of opacity. 'As the great men of the West bequeathed their deeds to us, so must we leave a legacy for our children,' the group’s website proclaims." Yeah, um... ...that's only opaque if you don't know what the Fourteen Words are

The Gaiman thing was already partially public knowledge. Like it was no secret he'd cheated on Palmer with his young nanny. Guy is a dirt bag who used saying the right things in public to mask. There's been so many of those. It's straight out of the Joss Whedon playbook.
