Democrats will shift polling on immigrant rights when we start boldly, proudly defending immigrants. Defending immigrants is patriotic (every migrant is a foot vote for America) and freedom-affirming. MAGA Republicans hate and betray the American tradition of welcoming immigrants.

One reason why the polls are underwhelming on some things -- and we saw this with impeachment -- is that Democratic leadership doesn't take advantage of partisanship. If they signal strongly the party is adopting a position on something, uncommitted or opposed Dems in the polls may fall in line.

Biden has to say he won't pardon his son because he knows the media would absolutely savage him if he tried. Yet the same media completely takes it for granted that Trump will pardon himself if he's re-elected, it's just baked into assumptions about his future cases and they don't even bother to ask

Tested positive for covid today, and thinking about reasons. Instinctively, I want to blame somebody.

I'm watching my mandataroy slip, trip, and fall training (super important for me as a professor) It's actually really enjoyable- it has training on how to turn while walking! I AM going to avoid twisting my truk and I'll try to grab the floor with my toes! How was I doing it all willy nilly before?

The US government keeps telling us that COVID is fine now because “we have the tools.” Well, they stopped requiring the reporting of COVID hospitalization data and they have ended programs for free tests, free masks, and now free vaccines. We absolutely DO NOT have the tools.

I need to get in fewer political fights - I tend to get overly disappointed in people who purportedly are on the same side of the political spectrum as me

I really wish the mainstream rhetoric for cops was more like what conservatives say for most social welfare programs: “If we put more money in when crime is high, we give them an incentive to make crime worse!” is probably way more true for cops than the corresponding statement is for safety nets.

Really wish we'd start calling UBI "proven results-oriented efficient method" and start referring to flooding a place with hundreds of cops as "experiment, no proof that it works and may be counterproductive, should consider discarding."
