Happy #primeweek! I just want to let y’all know that the Amazon shipping warehouse where my husband works is denying workers fans during a nationally recognized heat emergency and everything you order during time week places workers’ lives at risk.

"There's nothing we can do" is such a lie. There's almost always *something* they can do, they just often choose not to do it.

about once a week, i have to explain to someone on the phone that the police have no obligation to do anything for you and, even if their refusal literally leads to your murder, the courts have been clear that there's no case to pursue

IMO, for whatever that might be worth, the ruthless monetization of social media platforms is what kneecapped them. When organic reach was replaced by paying for exposure (he said with full awareness of that particular irony for working artists), that was the beginning of the end.

I have a LOT of complicated feelings about the Neil Gaiman situation. I'm not going to add to the flood of white noise by trying to analyze it (I think we should *all* cool it there, TBH), and I honestly don't have it in me to try, but I found this comforting, which is something I needed.

The Instagram algorithms continue their spiral into madness. It's the only way I can explain why they're showing me ads for sports betting. I hate sports and gambling individually, I sure as hell have no interest in the hellish intersection of the two.

I watched The New Kingdom last night. The director said he drew inspiration from 80s toy commercials, and man, does it show. And I do not mean that in a good way. I have nothing against cheesy Godzilla movies, I grew up on them, but this felt like the marketing team had too much input.

I was worried Godzilla Minus One would ruin Godzilla x Kong for me, but what really ruined Godzilla x Kong was Godzilla x Kong.
