It's not just one or two people so I'm sharing this again. Please, think of disabled people. It's Disability Awareness Month so time to think about others. There is no need to post a whole string of emojis. It doesn't make your post stand out - it just makes me less likely to read and share it.

I understand the need for emojis to flag MA posts to the appropriate feeds but there are quite a few of you just spamming them. Next time you type a whole line of emojis, read them all out loud, full name, one by one. Now imagine having to use a screen reader and coming across that mess.

Oh, and one more thing, though not putting it in this thread because it's a somewhat different issue. But it honestly seems transphobia just doesn't really work as an electoral mobilising or demobilising "culture war" the way Brexit and immigration somewhat do. People just don't seem to care.

OK here goes. Obviously, the big story is the Labour landslide, but a win of that size was only really possible due to the fragmentation of the right. At the same time, while on these results they're unlikely to care much, Labour underestimated the susceptibility of the left to fragment too. 1/

I just. The work of showing people how ableism is real and how their "everyday harmless status quo normal" beliefs and attitudes and behaviors are actually harmful can be like pulling teeth. Ableism is /so/ foundational. Folks will just straight-faced be like "but that /does/ make someone lesser."
