I don’t like to be indirect. So I’m telling you that I have active cancer and the health care workers refuse to mask. So for the fourth time in a cow I have come home SICK from CHEMOTHERAPY. You can’t tell by looking who is sick. It feels like I’m paying them to kill me. Please wear a mask.

Exhibit #528,634 that cops don't keep anyone safe.
Members of local law enforcement were stationed in the same complex of buildings that a gunman used to shoot at Donald Trump at a rally, according to an account from the Secret Service that suggests that the gunman was literally on top of them.

I do absolutely think that Americans have been successfully trauma-conditioned into just kinda shrugging at gun violence events that most other, healthier countries would see mass public freak horror over.
I wonder if this is at least in part due to the degree to which gun violence in general has been normalized as well as the miasma of violence and violent rhetoric that follow him everywhere now?

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirms that a Columbus, Ohio, police officer detailed to the RNC shot and killed a homeless Black man (earlier reported to be in his early 20s) more than half a mile from the RNC arena. two suggestions: 1) focus on the things you can actually control. 2) what you can actually control is bigger than you ever imagined, if you organize with other smart, dedicated people.

You will see many people saying "Vance isn't from Appalachia, he's from suburban Cincinnati" and as someone from that area I would just like to set the record straight, Middletown is a desolate hellscape neither Cincinnati nor Dayton are willing to claim

Every time a story comes out that a violent boy or man was bullied in school, I really wish they’d talk to the girls and women who had to be around that guy. Killings are rarely a first act of violence.

My first thought this morning after I remembered the news was how many people over the last few years have put their bodies between armed far right guys and kids going to the library or a bookstore

Getting increasingly pissed off by various politicians "distraught" today. This is America, where every day we wonder if this when someone we love gets mowed down by a shooter. Pretending to be shocked just shows you don't get it. Trump has a Secret Service detail to protect him. My kids don't.

Some of y'all need to eat grass. Not just touch it, eat it. I know you can't digest it. I think it would be good to spend a couple days in the bathroom wondering why you're like this.

It’s definitely a pattern, and one everyone on this app needs to think long and hard about before it’s too late.
Wait, the same people who bullied Tressie off of this site have now set their sights on Jamelle Bouie?? As ever, they are so much closer to MAGA than they realize.
